My dear friend and I went and sat in the domain and had a picnic. It was a hot day so we found a tree to sit under. Wrong tree lol we sat on acorns. But all was great we laughed and talked and looked around the Domain. There's gardens and ponds and toilets and even an art Gallery. There's also the Museum and the Spas and public pool. It's a beautiful place to be and it's so quiet and peaceful. I recommend all to go wonder around the Domain. I'm a local and I'm going to make a point of going there more often. There's also a Cafe up there. Go...

The te aroha was a nostalgic experience for me, it was a step back in time and I learnt a lot about the towns history from the helpful dvd the office lady played us when we arrived there. It was a only $5.00 to visit the museum and was happy with our experience. They have great memorabilia inside including a grandfather clock over 200 years old that still works today. Seriously... these are THE BEST hot pools. The alkaline basis of the Mokena springs (very different to the acidic ones of Rotorua and most others) really softens your skin. Its like bathing in liquid silk. None of that sulphuric smell. I've been coming here on and off for many years and as I've got older and the arthritis has set in, these pools above all others really make...
