This is an old hotel and I was expecting a basic but clean room for an overnight stay on my way further north. When I arrived there was a used mug on the bench in my room and no clean towels on the shelf in the hall where they were supposed to be. When they finally arrived hours later the (supposedly clean) towels stunk of grease (they felt greasy and smelled strongly of refried fish'n'chips). The fan in my room was broken (it was a hot night) and there were no working bedside lights. There was a used sanitary pad and a heap of used towels on a chair in the womens' bathroom and no rubbish bin. And there appeared to be a skid mark (or maybe blood?) on the floor of the...
