We had such a fantastic dinner at The Grand tonight to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary. The food was absolutely amazing from start to finish! We started by sharing the Tandoori Spiced Cauli Popcorn—it was full of flavour and the perfect way to kick off our meal. For mains, I went with the Peter Porker which was delicious and cooked to perfection, and my husband had the Harissa Lamb Shank, which was beautifully tender with just the right amount of spice. We couldn’t leave without dessert—two Sticky Date Puddings—and they were the perfect sweet finish to a wonderful evening. Thank you to the team at The Grand for a great experience. We’ll definitely be back soon! 😊

The restaurant is opposite the Te Aroha motel. It’s inside the Grand Tavern you can see it refurbished and new and spacious from the outside. The food portion is huge and the price is very reasonable just value for the money beyond our expectations. The taste is good although the food is very heavy with lots of cheese and source. Highly recommended!

We walked in last night after a soak in the mineral pools with no reservation. The place was jam packed and buzzing, but the staff found us a table with a smile and a warm welcome. We were in Te Aroha for a mini baby moon before our 2nd child comes along and dinner at the Grand Tavern was the perfect way to finish off the evening. I have not had such amazing food in such a long time! We had the Korean Fried Chicken, Steak & Chips and Beef & Bacon Cheeseburger, everything was absolutely delicious! The prices for everything were so reasonable too, cheaper than similar places in Hamilton which serve crap food in comparison. The only disappointment was that we were too full to have dessert. Rest assured we will be back to have that Sticky Date Pudding someday soon. This place is worth travelling from out of town to visit. Went with wife last night. Only us in restaurant (no surprise there) two drinks, bottles put on table. Lucky we had two spare water glasses. Entree, cheesy garlick bread.looked and tasted like cheese on toast one would do at home. I had steak, egg chips and salad. Chips were great steak mostly gristle. Told the girl, didn't seem to care. My wife had pork belly said it was O.K Cost $106.00 Been in Te Aroha for nearly 7 years now, 1st and last time...
