Initially went here for coffee on a Sunday afternoon as it is the only place open after 3 in Te Aroha. The coffee was very good. The garden bar section is very relaxing with wonderful established trees and comfortable seating. The service is very good, friendly and efficient. Looking forward to the quiz night.

Re Quiz night - general consensus was that meals were good and generous portions. Service was responsive. Menu item titles slightly confusing with Duck being a descriptor thus a brief anticipation of a duck shepards pie. Quiz attended by 8 teams and about 50 people. Quiz was run professionally overall but the timing of each round would have benefited from more rigorous and restricted timing as total duration was 150 minutes. The music was too loud. Ok, so this has got to be one of the best places for service. I called and left a voicemail message to book a table for 2. I was called back within 15 min. The booking was confirmed as a birthday and wedding anniversary dinner. I asked for a romantic table. The staff are enthusiastic, kind and attentive. The food is also just amazing. The seafood chowder was probably one of the best I have ever had, and I have eaten many. I could go on a about each dish but won't have enough space in this review. In summary you need to go here. We met friends there for lunch, parking right outside. Was busy for a Sunday most tables were full. I had cauliflower popcorn and a side salad, hubby had fish sliders. We were both happy with our meals. Our friends were happy also. The live band set up and started when we finished our meals. It made for hard conversation. Band needs to get that happy medium of great sound but but quiet enough to be heard when trying to catchup with friends. Staff were friendly, our friends knew our waitress so were well looked after.
