Mt Roskill Library — Attraction in Puketāpapa

If you accept what libraries have become now - that is, a community space which facilitates a variety of events for diverse groups of people rather than shelves full of books, this is a good place - minus one particular staff member who could use a refresher on customer interaction. Since the staff members wear IDs on lanyard, I can't tell who that was but I'm sure the library would know who I'm talking about. This is a shame as most staff are helpful and competent and one of them really stands out. Wi-fi is meant to draw customers into the library, so I don't see why it not reaching the car park is considered a problem (one reviewer mentioned this). By the way, it seems Wi-fi is still available after hours, I don't see why this is the case. One time I saw a guy standing next to the after hour return slot and watching some videos. I don't know what time the external entrance closes but this loop hole really should be closed. Also I'm not pleased with the no late return fine...

Living in the neighborhood for over 5 years, this is my first time to take advantage of this public facility.

This is really convenient for home workers who don't want to stay at home all day long. Of course good to students and kids to have a proper place to learn and study.

Awesome little library! Loads of desk spaces to sit down and study or do whatever you need to do. Lots of natural light. Some computers provided. Other people sitting around at other desks using their own laptops. Great selection of books, I was really surprised. Friendly counter staff that I encountered when I needed to ask...
