I think I should share my story to the public. I search this place online and I purchased 6 fish pompom in two weeks for my new fish pond. They are good and healthy. So I went there and got the 7th fish pompom, it was at 3pm on Thursday 19th Oct, the fish actually didn't look well when I put it to my pond. At 7am on Friday 20th Oct, which is only half day of the purchasing, it died !!! But other 6 fishes are all good which I bought few weeks before from the same fish pond in the shop. So I rang them and tried to solve this out. The person on the phone talked rudely and just said "You need to bring your pond water back to check." So I brought the water and dead fish back, they took 30mins to check the water. 4 examinations, 3 are excellent result, but 1 is not good. Then they told me they don't take the responsibility. Well, I think purchased their 7 fishes on total from their same fish pond, AND I did the same and keep them in my same pond. Only one die ! AND I only bought it at 3pm in the afternoon, found out it is dead at 7am the other day! Maybe even died at midnight. a few hours after the purchasing. So they said the fish has no problem, because of the water, AND the same water I keep for the other same fishes only didn't pass one examination out of four ! For me, at least, it doesn't make sense and it is unusual service in New Zealand. One more details is the 7th fish pompom, the died one, is on 10$ discount when I bought it. But I bought other 6 fishes in 2 weeks, they never put discount on those fish. Anyway, I think I should share my experience to everyone. I got 7 fishes from their same fish pond and keep them in my same fond, only one died at the end AND only a few hours later. AND I got very rude customer service. Read moreHave been to this store many times (and spent a fair amount of money) and was happy with their service until today. I bought 2 female kribensis and 2 platies on the 13th of September. After about 3 days one kribensis turned into a bully to any fish that it saw (a right menace) and one of the platies bullied the other to the point that it couldn’t be saved (I had too many males to females I believe). I had hoped they would settle down once they established their own territories but nothing changed and it was causing a lot of stress to the other tank mates who were very peaceful. I bagged the kribensis and remaining platy and took them back to the store today. I explained the situation to a staff member and they were happy to take them back. Once they had the fish in buckets they asked if there was anything else. I asked for my bags back and if I could receive a refund or do a swap for different fish. The staff member wasn’t sure so they spoke to their manager and I received a flat “no”. No explanation and the conversation was over. I said that’s fine and walked out. This is the first store I have been to that hasn’t been willing to either refund or swap fish that have been returned due to bully issues. I paid for the fish and have returned them in great condition, they admitted they would be put right back in the tank to be resold and therefore make more money off of those fish yet through no fault of my own I am left with nothing? I will not be coming back...
Read moreI don't recommend going BUT If you want to experience some awful customer service. I get it's the holiday period but when its the staff's job to help and be friendly to customers especially when they're being friendly to the staff and patient .. I don't expect to be spoken to like I'm nuisance demanding to much! I bought a Arowana from here and the staff member didn't even ask general care questions that should be asked when people are buying livestock. Eg : what size tank I have?, do i have any experience ?, etc. I got a "is that all?". Like come on. Atleast make it seem like you wanna be there. Hire friendly & knowledgeable staff please.
Edit to response below: Im unsure as to what cctv footage you'd be looking at as i never specified which day or time I came. I do know for a fact that you guys have arowanas for sale most of the time I come in so its odd to say you checked cctv footage. Just confused as to how you can respond and say the interaction was different from what im saying when I never specified a time or date. I have no reason to write this review if this didn't actually happen. :) always wanting to support businesses whether they be local or international. Just expect a good service as i walk in as customer giving a positive attitude to those...
