Hahei beach walk is always open and has nothing to do with the Cathedral Cove track. It's the best beach on the planet and is a spell binding walk from the edge of the Marine reserve to the North to the Pa Hill lookout to the South. It's an easy walk with abundant wildlife and many sights along the way. Fabulous 👌 Highly recommended.

You CAN walk from Hahei beach all the way to Cathedral Cove. It’s still signposted as closed at the start of the track but we did the walk & there was nothing wrong with the track at all. They have kind of ruined the portion of the track from Grange Rd onwards by tar sealing it all instead of the bush walk it used to be & they’ve closed the carpark on grange rd & made it drop off only.
