We had an absolutely brilliant stay for 2/3 nights. For the first night, we checked in and found we were in a cabin with bunk beds, - turns out it was me who misinterpreted the website though the info on booking.com could have been clearer. However, the staff were so friendly and accommodating when we raised it and they moved us for our final two nights into cabin number 4 which was nothing short of stunning. Incredible views, stylishly fitted out. A real upgrade (but sold for the same price as our original cabin). This one was absolutely 5* and we absolutely would book again. We would recommend you book Lofoten cottages, but would just suggest that you accompany your booking with a conversation with the team to ensure you know what is available as it does seem a bit hit or miss.||The location is beautiful and close to good, varied walks, a delicious bakery and 2 restaurants. Parking close by and free access to the...

It fell short of our expectations. The cottages are nice even if the beds on the lofts are really uncomfortable. There are only a few centimeters between the bed and the roof in the foot area. there was no running water in the room and the bathroom was 100 m from the cottage. as soon as we arrived we were locked in the bathroom due to a fault with the door and had to wait 20 minutes before someone came to open us. maybe we were expecting an apology with a discount or a room change since ours had no view except on the window of another cottage and on the other side on a very close rock. they just told us that they let us know within 10 minutes and then after 1 hour they gave us the keys to the bathroom of another vacant cottage, which seeing on the map was certainly in a more beautiful position than ours being located right on the lake. perhaps a little more attention to the...

Our decision to overnight at the Lofoten Cottages was quite spontaneous and we were curious about staying in a traditional rorbu. We initially booked a Standard Cabin but were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a Comfort Cabin at no extra charge upon arrival. This kind gesture lifted our spirits even more after an exhausting day of hiking.

The cabin was very cosy and clean, with everything we needed for our two-night stay. We loved having breakfast on the porch, listening to the waves and the cries of seagulls, and enjoying the occasional late September sunlight.

The overall service was excellent, and we would certainly return.

A big thank you to Lofoten Cottages and the two welcoming ladies at reception for a relaxing and...

Very bad. The toilet is outside the cottage, about 150 meters, when we had asked for a toilet inside the cottage. There was no water in the cabin, just a shared tap out the cabin. The front door is in poor condition. The entrance to the cabin without light, completely dark (the light did not work) and is the old part of the cabin, of fishing tools. The foam mattress, small and with fungi. Difficult access to the beds. Roof over the beds is low and minimum space. There was no one at the reception either, the same day or the next day. Light was not fixed. Difficult to find the place where to collect the keys. The cottage was in front of a rock, it had no views or access to the sea, when it is what you are looking for in this place.

Our cabin had a restroom and full kitchen. The views were great but since I was traveling with a buddy we had to split who got the room and who got the couch. It’s a common issue I’ve seen in Norway where they have two beds listed but it’s actually two single sleeping areas on one mattress and one sheet set, with two blankets and two pillows side by side (That’s one bed by normal counts). For example, they will list 2 single beds but they’re actually connected as a double, with no way to separate them. Service was friendly at the reception.

The most unique stay on our trip to Lofoten. We stayed in the superior Rorbu (traditional fisherman cabin) built on stilts on the water and it had the most stunning views of the Fjords. The balcony/deck outside allowed morning yoga in a very peaceful setting. Very intimate with nature. Special call out to Aleksandra at the reception who was super friendly, helpful, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate about her job which she was very good at. She made some great recommendations and helped us decide between hikes.
