A unique museum — the only one of its kind in the world. The story of stockfish and its role in Lofoten is fascinating and worth experiencing. However, the presentation could be improved: the leaflet was not very clear, some exhibit numbers were missing or confusing, and the short film upstairs felt very outdated. The staff member upstairs was not very attentive either. Still, it’s an interesting and worthwhile stop if you’re in Å, just don’t expect a polished museum experience.

Very personal museum. And very interesting. Nicely done - aesthetically impressing. Anybody who loves to eat Bacalhau, stoccafisso / Bacalá or Stockfish (this depends on where you come from and which language you speak) should come here and get infos about the work this few grams on your plate create to the fisherman on Lofoten (NOR). There is also a film in different languages with subtitels. Go there!

Very interesting museum which taught us about Norways fishing history and the stockfish.

Owner was a very interesting gentleman who used to export stockfish and grew up in Lofoten, so he really knows his stuff and speaks many luggages!

Nice free coffee, tea and biscuits upstairs which is a cosy spot to hide while the rain passes.

Would recommend to support the local community and learn about...
