Assuming you prefer rugged to polished, this place --Room 6, for example-- can provide what you need to enjoy yourself and even provide a memorable experience. The kitchen is supplied well enough for meals, the bathroom comes with that heated floor, there is plenty of light, and they've provided lots of connections for your technology. The blackout curtains partially work. Beds are an individual matter, and they met our needs. Bring soap and shampoo. Request an extra towel or two at the reception as you check in.||||But if you're stuck with a room such as Sally 21, you could be miserable. Lifting a couch cushion to attempt to make a place to sleep since the bed was not an option, our travel companions noted that the area under the cushion harbored the garbage of ?how many previous occupants? The bed was placed (and not able to be moved) in such a way as to preclude two people sleeping there. One would have to climb over the other while getting hit by the slanting roof. The bathroom is several irregular steps down from the main rooms, a truly unpleasant feature to encounter in the middle of the night.||||If you've been overwhelmed by breakfast buffets throughout Norway, this one will be a letdown, especially if you find, as we did, that there is an additional charge.||||The property boasts free wifi. In fact, in our two rooms far from one another, it did not work reliably. We went to the restaurant where it also did not work reliably.||||Yes, parking is free. Time it correctly, and you will find a...
Read moreI have stayed at Å Robuer one night and I wrote to them to express my disappointment about the room hoping for some partial refund but all I got was a reply where they “accepted my feedback”. I have booked directly on their website; the booking was for a 1-bed cabin which was on discount and I was expecting to sleep in one that looked a bit more like the pictures they have on their website (very misleading pictures and probably belonging to a larger 1 bed accommodation).
The room was very small, I barely fit myself and sleeping in two people was very uncomfortable (especially when one of them is 1.90cm). The pictures and the description showed a larger living room, a double bed (and larger bedroom/living room) and when I got there it was just a tiny apartment, a twin bed room which was very tiny and uncomfortable. Some pictures of the living room are shown on the website together with those of the larger 1bed accommodation but expectations were to sleep in a larger place as shown in the the pictures (in a double bed at least). In the morning there was no one at reception to file a complain (because it opened at 12) when I checked out. I was very disappointed as this looked very good an nice on...
Read moreRorbu for 6 people, but only two chairs on a tiny balcony. Balcony facing land, not the sea. And we were “lucky” with the view from our balcony. Be aware that many of the Rorbuer face land, not the sea||The walls are extremely thin, you can hear every conversation and people brushing their teeth. ||The lighting is very poor, not adequate for reading in the living room, even with midnight sun to help. Light in the kitchen kept flashing. The fridge was difficult to open and the kettle was broken. Notice also that there is no freezer so you can’t freeze the elements for your cool box. ||WiFi adequate but no more. Struggled to upload photos. ||Parking situation is not good as there is no designated parking for each unit. Particularly tricky if you were planning on charging...
