We were staying in Å and instead of going out to a cafe decided to drop by the bakery at Å , pick up some treats and have coffee at our lodge overlooking the ocean. It was national cinnamon bun day and all the cinnamon buns were on sale. We chose a Choco Walnut and Regular cinnamon buns and also picked up a loaf of Sourdough Bread with Seeds. The cinnamon buns were okay but the Sourdough bread was excellent. Regardless, we enjoyed our coffee and cinnamon buns while watching the waves crash on the rocks in the brilliant sun. Later in the afternoon we had the bread with goat cheese we purchased at LOFOTEN GÅRDSYSTERI and some strawberry jam. We can’t wait until tomorrow to try the Rye Sourdough Bread with Seeds and I’m going to get a Vanilla Cream Cinnamon...

The cinnamon rolls were to die for. 60kr each they were totally worth it, especially since they were big ones, about five inches across and two or three inches high. They weren't too sweet however they were plenty sweet and the cinnamon was just the right amount. The bread itself was fluffy but it didn't crumble at all which was great. It sold some bread and coffee with a mini-fridge with a small selection of cold drinks too. Between the door and the bakery was a small dining area with a larger 6 person table and a smaller two person table.

Opening hours are 9 am to 3 pm but when we got there at 9:02 there was already a line. Also if you come too late they may be sold out or the buns will not...

Top class little bakery in the little town of Å in the sputh of Lofoten. Great to see that the place is being kept alive with three guest bakers (who definitely know their trade!). Unfortunately this time it was not able to purchase goods from the bakery itself, but rather just around the corner in the museum shop was where the gold could be found. The kanelbolle was pretty up there, but a close second to the ones up the road in Nusfjord, service good, place was clean and of course the weather helped on the sunny day I was there……Good seats/tables to be found outside. Will be back should I find myself in the region again. Keep up the good...
