Great park space with a little for everyone. There are large open spaces for enjoying the sun and shaded areas for enjoy it in moderation, lovely terraced hillsides to maximise space and they also make wonderful slides when the park is covered with snow in winter.
There are year round sporting facilities, a local chapter of Park Run meets here on weekends and the recent re-opening of the public pool has added to the variety of spaces and activities.
Right across the road is the old Munch museum and the Botanical gardens, which also house the Natural History Museum. Just above Toyen park and to either side there are other parks, a charming dog park with old fashioned light poles which make it feel a little like visiting Narnia, that leads the wanderer toward Carl Berners Plass on one side and quaint Kampen park which leads to the equally quaint Kampen.
At the bottom of the park is the Toyen stop on the underground (T-banen) and at the top in the diagonally opposite corner is the Toyen stop for the railway. Both can take you back to the city centre; the T-banen connects a number of different lines and the rail will take you out...

It's on a hill slope but there are several little terraces and level areas near to the street though. There is a huge construction taking place that may take a year or two before completion.
