Nice edifice with beautiful history about it. It's a must in your visit to Tønsberg. When I was there, there was organised a viking-arch competition, and I think that people of the city normally organise interesting events in the park down the edifice. There is a beautiful landscape of Tønsberg from the tower and the park below its, and the entrance is free. It's quiet sad, but the inside of the tower is a little bit boring, 'cause is made thinking on kids, with some playables and toys, so a little bit boring for me, but if you travel with kids it can be a good place also. The way to up to the tower's park is beautiful, and there are many traditional houses (with grass on the top) sparced on the downside of it.

Na widocznej prawie z całego Tonsbergu górze Slottsfjell, znajduje się wieża będąca jedyną częścią po zabudowie "zamkowej" podobno najstarszej w całej Skandynawii fortecy - wg archeologów, już w 900 r. AD Tonsberg było osadą handlową. Wokół wieży znajdują się częściowo zachowane pozostałości po zabudowie fortecy. Na okolicznym terenie znajduje się muzeum (poniżej fortecy). Z tego najwyższego w Tonsberg miejsca, rozpościera się wspaniały widok na okoliczny teren Warto zobaczyć, a wręcz nie można nie zobaczyć będąc w Tonsberg. Warto dodać, że w drugiej połowie lipca (np. w 2018 roku było to 19-21),odbywa się wokół wieży festiwal, którego nie można nie odwiedzić

På Slottfjellet i Tønsberg ligger restene av Norges største middelalderslottkompleks. Sagaene forteller om et slottsanlegg bygget i tre på Slottsfjellet rundt midten av 1100-tallet. Men det var først med kong Håkon Håkonssons byggearbeid i første halvdel av 1200-tallet at ringmuren og steinporttårnene kom på plass. Det var trolig under hans regjeringstid at de store trehallene også ble bygget. Kun grunnmurene er synlige i dag. Sønnen Magnus Lagabøte bygde murborgen noen tiår senere. I den anledning ble teglverket på nedre platå i nord etablert. Andre deler av slottskomplekset ble også reparert eller forsterket med murstein.

Slightly challenging to find it with the construction in the area, luckily located the footpath carved by others up the snow embankment towards the top. Was able to see the sunset, cool place.

It was beautiful. A must see if in Tonsberg, Norway. It’s quiet and peaceful. It took me about 10 mins to get to the top. Hills can be steep for some but it’s worth it.
