Al Mirani Fort is a must see when you visit Miscat along with the Al Alam Palace. This 400 century old historical landmark served as protecting Fort during the fight with the Portuguese back in the 16th century. The fort is facing the Gulf. 8 The view was spectacular especially at night when you can see the lights in the sorounding area. It is recommended to visit before sunset to see the place in daylight and at the same time see the sunset in Oman and at night when all the lights are there.

The Museum is just newly opened 8th days old. In time for the Eid holiday 2024.

The scene from the fort is spectacular. The stone building send you back on time. The stage is wonderful. Stage is one of the beautiful places at the Al Mirani fort. Where you can see everything. Viewing deck.

There is a lovely cafe called The Fort where you can get your refreshments while in the Fort.

As for the parking we parked from the outside of the Palace. Althought if you're in luck there are from outside Al Mirani some parking spaces. The good thing is you get tgood exercise from the parking by walking all the way and the stairs in the fort...you should be able to manage because there are a lot of staircases. Although there are 2 elevators there for main floors, most viewing decks are accessible by stairs

Generally, the Al Mirani Fort stood grandeur atop Oman stones and now that after long time it was opened to public to appreciate the Oman history

Hope you enjoy too as much as...

Al Mirani Fort, located in Muscat, Oman, is a historical landmark that captivates visitors with its impressive architecture and rich history. Perched on a hill overlooking the harbor, the fort offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Oman. The fort's well-preserved structure and strategic location reflect its importance during the Portuguese colonial period.

Exploring Al Mirani Fort provides a glimpse into the past, with its thick stone walls, narrow passageways, and fascinating exhibits detailing Oman's history. The site is not only significant for its historical value but also serves as a popular spot for photography, especially during sunset.

One of the pleasant surprises at Al Mirani Fort is the charming café located on-site. This café offers a delightful selection of refreshments, making it a perfect place to relax after exploring the fort. Visitors can enjoy a cup of coffee or a light snack while soaking in the breathtaking views, adding to the overall experience.

Overall, Al Mirani Fort is a must-visit attraction in Muscat, blending history, culture, and a lovely...

The ticket price for Al Mirani Fort is 11 OMR per person (around 104.94 AED), which might be a bit expensive, especially for common visitors or families on a budget. However, if you’re a history enthusiast, it could still be worth the visit. The free parking in front of the fort is very convenient, making access easy for visitors. The fort itself is located in a nice and clean neighborhood, which is also pleasant to explore once you’re done visiting the fort. The staff at the fort are friendly and helpful, adding to the overall positive experience. The fort is well-maintained, and you can admire the impressive rock walls visible after the reception area, showcasing the fort's historical charm.

A small suggestion would be to add more cubicles for both males and females to reduce waiting times, as the current facilities can sometimes cause delays.

Overall, Al Mirani Fort is a great historical site with friendly staff, beautiful surroundings, and a chance to explore the fort thoroughly, but the ticket price may be a consideration for some. Still, it's definitely worth visiting if...

Oman Al Mirani Fort in Muscat opens to visitors The 16th-century Al Mirani Fort in Muscat has been opened to visitors, The fort in old Muscat overlooks the Sea of Oman and was the first where cannons were installed in Oman. Al Mirani Fort existed before the Portuguese invasion and was later rebuilt by the Portuguese in 1587. It is also called the Al Gharbiya Fort as it commands a view of a high rocky hill at the end of the west wall. Al Mirani Fort, built at the same time as nearby Al Jalali Fort, has a special place in history as it contributed to the fall of the Portuguese. "This historic landmark that has stood tall for more than 400 years will be open to all visitors so that everyone will be able to enjoy the details of this magnificent architectural monument and its wonderful view of the city of Muscat, the Al Alam Palace, and the old port of Muscat,"... TIMINGS Sunday - Wednesday: 8 am - 11 pm Thursday - Saturday: 8 am - 12 midnight ENTRY FEE Non Omanis/ Tourists - RO10 for adults and RO5 for kids Omanis - RO3.

If you plan to visit this place better go to Mutrah Fort which offers same views but at a much cheaper cost. This place is 10 OMR, whereas Mutrah is 3OMR. The views of the port are almost similar and if you are interested in views of Alam Palace, then you get the same from the street below. But the price is not worth what it offers. Mutrah is much authentic with guns o display and also still in much original shape whereas this place Mirani is way too artificial plus modernized. I did not come here to see moder painted walls and staircases. Plus, this place is more of a museum than a fort. Plus, this place is more of a science artifacts show than a fort. Being a fort, it should have been much authentic with guns and rugged walls. Seems this place was built yesterday as a Disney fort. Guys, save your money and visit Mutrah if you are interested in history. If even for views - wait till they bring down the price to 3 OMR at max.
