Al-Alam Palace was built in 1800 by Imam Sultan bin Ahmed, where the historian Miles mentioned in his book “The Gulf Countries and Tribes” that Imam Sultan bin Ahmed brought a group of Portuguese engineers to build it. Al-Alam Palace was considered in the past as the residence of the ruler until the era of Sultan Saeed bin Taimur, but more recently in 1972, when Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed assumed the reins of power, he ordered many major maintenances that made the palace what it is today and the palace became a place to receive presidents and hold important meetings of the state. The palace is distinguished by its wonderful engineering design, consisting of columns decorated with mosaic art, and its aura that reflects Arab culture. Its geographical location, located next to Al-Jalali and Al-Mirani Castles, is also distinguished. The road leading to the palace is smooth, as Muscat is characterized by a network of roads and easy transportation, as taxis are available during the day at about one Omani riyal, but their nightly cost increases and becomes 1.3 Omani riyals. The palace is usually crowded. Viewing the palace from the inside is prohibited. It is allowed only the outer area of the palace. There are no specific visiting times, but it is preferable to visit it during the day or when the moon is full at night. Spring Company

My trip to Al Alam Palace in Oman was amazing! The palace, built by Sultan Qaboos bin Said, is like a colorful treasure chest full of history. It's in Old Muscat and has a great view of Al Jalali and Al Mirani forts against the blue sky. If you're into history, this place is a must-visit! The palace has beautiful gardens and a cool changing of the guard's ceremony. Inside, it's super fancy, with fancy chandeliers and a mix of old and new vibes. The palace is like a time machine, taking you to the past. What's cool is that Al Alam Palace is all about preserving Oman's history. The guides there are like storytellers, telling you all about each part of the palace. It's like a journey through Oman's past and a treat for anyone who loves exploring rich places. I’d suggest everyone visit this beautiful spot whenever they’re in the capital. Good luck! Best regards, JALIL HASSAN

Al Alam Palace was a wonderful place to visit. I stopped by in the evening and found the surroundings to be incredibly calm and beautiful. Although we didn't have permission to enter the palace, its exterior and adjacent gardens were still worth seeing. Located opposite the National Museum, the palace's adjacent streets are particularly impressive. *Additional Facts:* - Al Alam Palace is open to the public for exterior viewing, but interior access is restricted. - The palace hosts official events, ceremonies, and receptions. - Its design reflects Oman's rich cultural heritage and architectural traditions. - Visitors can take photos outside the palace, but respect local guidelines and restrictions.
