One of the popular spot for residence and visitors to the National Capital District (NCD).
Most locals go there to relax, past the time and cool off during lunch time, after work and during the weekends and/or public holidays.
The Hiri henenamo competition is held here in the month of September every year.

The sand is soft, and the water is clear, making it perfect for a refreshing swim. The calm atmosphere made it an ideal spot to relax, with plenty of shaded areas for picnics or just enjoying the cool sea breeze. The beach is well-maintained, and there are a few local vendors offering snacks and drinks, which adds a nice touch without being intrusive.
One of the highlights was walking along the beachfront promenade and taking in the picturesque views. There were families, tourists, and locals all enjoying the day, which created a great sense of community. The sunset views here are breathtaking, with the sky lighting up in vibrant colors — a perfect way to end the day.
What I loved most is that it felt like a hidden gem in the city — accessible but peaceful, with a great blend of relaxation and natural beauty. Ela Beach is definitely a place I’ll return to for more laid-back days...
