Read moreI recently stayed at this hotel, Crown Hotel Port Moresby, with my spouse for three nights, and our experience was highly disappointing due to several regrettable incidents:
Room Mismatch: The room we were given did not match the type we had requested and paid for.
Room Changes: We had to change rooms twice due to significant issues. 2.1. First Room: The windows were not sealed properly, allowing intolerable noise to enter. 2.2. Second Room: There was no hot water. After two hours of attempts, the handyman advised us to change rooms. 2.3. Third Room: The ceiling was covered with black spots, indicating fungies and dust colonies.
Water Issues: On our last morning, the water supply was cut off, leaving us without water for the bathroom, shower, and tap.
Unclean Bedding: The bed sheets were stained with black and orange spots. When we requested a change, we received similarly dirty sheets.
Insufficient Amenities: Despite booking and paying for two people, the amenities provided (including water, sanitary kits, and shampoo) were only for one person. We had to ask the hotel to provide additional items.
Overall, the hotel is severely run-down with poor maintenance, disorganization, and a lack of hygiene.
I strongly recommend reconsidering before...

There is a good value attached restaurant so you dont have to leave the secure compound, but the pool lacks amenity if planning to stay as tourist for a day or two (The inland Hilton or Holiday Inn are better options for longer stays wanting some pool time and to visit main city attractions like the Nature Park and National Museum). |For quiet rooms get the high floors of 7-8-9 with room numbers 12-16 = these rooms face on most quiet traffic/pedestrian side of the hotel and most importantly are shielded from the loud disco music from the Friday nite disco in the basement that transmits right up to the high levels on the other sides of the hotel (as verified by me changing rooms!). Free shuttle to/from airport but make sure to catch earlier rather than later time back to airport in case the shuttle is...
