Tandoor on Harbour is well located near the picturesque harbour, offering an excellent ambience that enhances the dining experience, especially for Indian food lovers in Papua New Guinea.

When it comes to food, some specific dishes stand out as quite good, while the majority are decent but could be improved. One peculiar practice here is that they provide complimentary rice with your meal, which may sound good at first, but it ends up feeling like an unnecessary addition, as it often forces you to order an additional dish to pair with it. A better approach might be to offer a complimentary dessert or something more balanced.

During peak hours, service tends to slow down noticeably, so be prepared for some delay if you visit when the restaurant is busy.

A word of caution: double-check your bill before paying. During our visit, we were given an invoice with items we hadn’t ordered. Fortunately, we noticed the discrepancy and got it corrected, but this is not the level of attentiveness you’d expect from a restaurant of this caliber.

Overall, the ambience and some of the food are enjoyable, but there are definitely areas where...

Just wanted to shout out to these guys for one of the best dining experiences ive had in my 18 months in POM. Was actually looking to go to another Indian restaurant but knowing these guys were next to Duffy at Harbourside i knew theyd have to be good. Really wanted some good Samosas and of course the girl serving said sorry no samosas tonite - then ordered a goat curry - No Goat! Not a great start but ince the Manager/Owner hit the table - he organised fresh made Samosa which were brilliant and Tadoori Chicken Lamb Rogan and Biryani were all outstanding - couldnt recomend these guys more. . . Well done. (Sorry no pics - too busy eating but beautifully served food in authentic copper and steel bowls and great glassware lol...

This restaurant is just the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to in my life!

For the 3 years I lived in POM, I rigorously came every week to eat the AMAZING Butter Chicken (no, nothing else for 3 years 🤣).

My wife and I miss this place.

A special thanks to our friend Raj for his warm welcomes every time we came....

Our old haunt, went in this Sunday for a delectable " Indian Fast Food " lunch . Paani Puri was good , accompanied by spiced butter milk. The Chole esp Bhatura was the star of the day. Quite delicious and filling with pickle , salad and fried green chillies on the side. Great view of the windblown sea

I visited here on Sunday lunch time. I ordered the “paneer dosa(35k)” Chef takes about 10min for making it. Not so long. So, taste of dosa….. It was soooo good. Dosa tastes like a little bit sour but super crispy. I love it. Dip source is great too. I will come here soon. GOCHOSO-sama-deshita.
