This was my first stay at Crowne Plaza Residences. I’ve been coming to Port Moresby on business since 2015 and the Crowne Plaza Residences are fairly new (I would previously stay at Grand Papua or The Crown). I loved it here! The reception staff were friendly & professional & there were a business centre with a pod coffee machine where I was able to meet with PNG colleagues. My room was massive (big enough for a family!) with 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms and balconies overlooking Ela Beach & APEC Haus. The wifi worked well & I was able to easily work from the hotel in between meetings. The hotel is close to everything - just a short walk to Revenue Haus & next door to Deloitte Haus. The Port Terrace Bar is just outside (beautiful views over Fairfax harbour, especially at sunset!) & part of the hotel for room service charges. The location is great for the view, but it’s a little tight getting up and down to/from the property on the steep roads. I believe we had one of the smallest apartments, and it was huge. Fully appointed kitchen, laundry room, 2 baths (only one was en-suite), small balcony and large windows with view down to the APEC Haus. It was very quiet around the property, but there was not much to do. No swimming pool, and the rooftop terrace was super basic. The Port terrace restaurant across from the lobby has a great location, but we found the food lacking. The front desk couldn’t get our WiFi working, but they put me through to a remote technician who got my individual device added. We would stay again making use of an IHG free night, but I would eat elsewhere.
