Our visit to Joseph's in Baguio was nothing short of magical—a perfect celebration of my wife's birthday and our six years of marriage. Nestled within the historic Laperal White House, which intriguingly was featured in the 2010 Philippine horror movie White House, the restaurant exudes an old-world charm that instantly captivates. As we stepped into the beautifully decorated mansion, we were greeted by a cozy atmosphere adorned for the upcoming Christmas holiday. The warm glow of festive lights danced off the elegantly set tables, and a soothing loop of solo violin music played softly in the background, setting a romantic tone for the evening. The staff welcomed us with genuine smiles, their friendly and accommodating nature making us feel immediately at home. They guided us to our table, where we began our culinary journey with the Duo of Duck—a delightful bowl of confit duck leg, seared duck breast, and tender white beans. Sharing this dish was a perfect start, and the complimentary focaccia bread that accompanied it was simply divine—soft and fresh inside with a perfectly crunchy exterior. For the main course, I indulged in the halibut fillet served with julienned vegetables and a carrot and ginger sauce. The fish was cooked to perfection—tender and flaky. While the sauce was flavorful, it was a tad overpowering for my taste, but it didn't overshadow the overall excellence of the dish. I hope they consider toning it down just a notch. My wife savored the truffle cream pasta and tenderloin, both of which were exquisite and showcased the chef's remarkable skill. Dessert was a highlight we'll cherish: Molten Chocolate Cake with vanilla bean sauce, seasonal fruit, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream. As we cut into the cake, it oozed warm, rich chocolate—an indulgent finale that was both comforting and decadent. In a heartwarming gesture, the staff sang "Happy Birthday" to my wife and presented her with extra ice cream. Though we were delightfully full and couldn't finish it all, the gesture added a special touch to our celebration. The evening was made even more memorable with a tour of the mansion. We explored the beautifully preserved upstairs, where bedrooms have been transformed into private dining halls. The master bedroom, featuring a stunning fireplace, was particularly enchanting. The historical elegance combined with the festive decorations made every corner of Joseph's feel like a scene from a classic holiday film. The ambiance was intimate and relaxed, making it an ideal setting for a romantic date or special occasion. The entire experience, priced at around 4,500 PHP, was indeed on the higher side, but it was worth every peso for the unforgettable memories we created. We're already planning our return visit to try their renowned Beef Wellington, one of my all-time favorite dishes. Our evening at Joseph's rekindled our love for Baguio and for each other, reminding us why this city holds such a special place in our hearts. If you're looking for a place that combines exquisite dining with historical charm and a touch of romance, Joseph's in the Laperal White House is the place to be.

One of the iconic landmarks of Baguio has recently undergone a transformation. Joseph's, located at the Laperal White House is the newest addition to the city's upscale dining scene. Run by Joseph (the restaurant's namesake) and his wife Chef Gemma Sembrano, the restaurant is currently on soft-opening status. Dining at Joseph's could be described at this stage as a culinary and sensorial experience. Why so? Book a table to find out for yourselves. The house's exterior has undergone a refresh, while the formerly dark interiors were brightened by well-appointed light fixtures. Most of the wooden panelings and finish were preserved, with a few rooms, especially at the 2nd floor, spruced up with a fresh coat of paint. Decor at both dining floors are sparse, so your eyes are naturally drawn to the architectural details. The chef behind Joseph's is the same chef behind Concha's Garden Cafe in Tagaytay, Silang, and QC, as well as Comida y Vino at the Tagaytay Highlands. The latter became the vehicle for the owner's long-time dream of converting the Laperal House into a restaurant to become a reality. One of Lucio Tan's daughters, whose father currently owns the 1.5 hectare Laperal property in Baguio, was impressed by the culinary experience at Comida y Vino, paving the way for the Sembranos to propose the restaurant idea for the Baguio property. And the rest, as they say, is history. Since Joseph's is just a few days old, much improvement can still be expected as far as service quality is concerned. Birth pains notwithstanding, the food more than makes up for the little inconveniences of the soft opening, as the restaurant slowly establishes itself as an institution in Baguio's vibrant culinary scene.

Was it worth it ? Well spent around roughly 4500 during that evening cause we just wanted to try the experience and guess what it was over hyped and you are basically just paying for the venue let me tell you why .. service and the crew are welcoming at best they are hospitable which is good for fine dining , but the best thing should be the food right ? Well I was wrong let’s start with the potato leak soup it was the worse soup I ever tried how can you get potato and leak wrong it was so soupy and not even creamy like how potato and leak is supposed to taste like it was just salty and runny with a hint of crouton to hide the fact that they skimped out in the potato , eggs florentine was unique , the salmon tartare was so disgusting the odor from it smelled like either it was rotten or almost there to begin with I was expecting sushi grade salmon but everything they added to it made it worse the sauce made it either too salty or too sour and the smell my god the smell was so bad I hated it , the pork roulade was so tough and dry like imagine eating dried oats without milk for water and you gotta chew and chew till your jaw falls off , it was hard to eat , the same goes with the chicken francese it was so dry as well , and here’s the thing that bothered me the most I asked one of the wait staff for extra sauce for the chicken and pork cause it was so dry and tough and she said she’ll be back and never did and what’s funny was there were only two tables that night in the venue I no longer bothered to ask again because it will just piss me off cause she didn’t forget it she just didn’t bother to do it anymore , a fine dining restaurant and it’s staff should be at 100 percent without asking for something twice . we both finish the food cause why wouldn’t you it’s 4000 pesos that doesn’t come cheap but I was hoping for premium class food for a premium price , very disappointing , the strawberry tart was good though .. cheers

I recently dined at this restaurant as it was recommended by a friend. To start, I ordered the Cauliflower Soup, and it was perfect to awaken my taste buds. For the main course, I opted for the Braised Beef with a side of Buttered Fettuccine. The beef was incredibly tender. The dish was rich in flavor and the combination of the tender beef and al dente pasta was simply divine. And finally, for dessert, I indulged in the Molten Chocolate Cake. The molten center oozed out with every spoonful, and the accompanying vanilla sauce added a delightful touch. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an excellent dining experience. The overall dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. The ambiance was elegant, the service was attentive (thank you Aldrin and Cha), and the flavors were beyond compare. I can't wait to return and explore more of the menu offerings when I come back to the Philippines.

The three of the fundamentals for an exquisite gastronomic experience is here at Joseph’s. Great ambiance. The place is cozy and inviting. The service is just AMAZING. Nothing was left to chance. The servers were all attentive. The food is just a delight to the taste buds - the natural flavors are there, but the sauce and the spices enhanced everything. I enjoyed every bit, even the microgreens. The hot chocolate IS THE BEST I EVER TASTED. I am a fan of hot chocolates. I have tried it in all my travels. Joseph’s hot chocolate is not too sweet and not too bitter. The more you sip, the more it grows on you. I wanted to order a second cup but it’s worth 200.00 😆 i still think it’s worth it. Their strawberry lemonade has real crushed strawberries in it. Wonderful experience. But it is just expensive. I ate alone and paid around 3,500.00 for a 2-course meal with 2 drinks. It’s not for your daily consumption.
