Rose Bowl Steakhouse and Restaurant — Restaurant in Baguio

This restaurant is my family’s favorite! My father prefers this restaurant over many others in Baguio City during very special occasions.

Many locals patronize this resto!

They have a wide range of selections to choose from. Their food is superb! My personal favorites are the following:

SOUP -Crabmeat Sharksfin Soup -Bird's Nest Soup with Quail Eggs

VEGETABLES -Rose Bowl Chopsuey with Pacific Clams or Chinese Mushroom

FISH -Whole Steamed Lapu-Lapu -Abalone with Chinese Mushroom

PORK and BEEF -Crispy Pata -Patatim

OTHERS -Eight Taste Prawns -Almond and Lychees -Special Cold Cuts -Rice toppings (esp when cash-strapped 😆)

Their staff are superlatively friendly and accommodating! Many of them have been working in Rose Bowl for decades! I heard some complaints about slow service and that it takes a while for food to be served. Well, when there are too many customers, service may be affected but just a little. And, it is a restaurant (NOT a fastfood), so if you want good food, you have to wait.

Parking may be an issue especially if you go there during the busy/peak hours.

Rose Bowl restaurant - yes, please remove the word 'steakhouse' from the restaurant name as they no longer serve steaks here. It moved from it's old location in Burnham Park in 2010-2011. Close to nearby Pink Sisters.

This is such a food institution that I grew up with as a Baguio regular way back from the 70's and 80's - but this is no longer the same Rose Bowl restaurant that I grew up and had so many fond memories of eating such memorable Chinese dishes.

Sadly (pandemic-driven?) - the quality has gone way down the food chain, with the cameron rebosado and lumpia shanghai rolls shrunk to a hollow memory of those fond food memories.

Star Cafe, I heard, closed down over a decade ago when the family members immigrated to Canada (?). Honestly - might be time for the current owners to do the same...

Awesome old school, classic Chinese restaurant in Baguio. Dining here was a delightful experience. We had a right-at-home comfortable dinner at Rose Bowl with super hospitable staff and great service.

All the food was great tasting and prepared just right. We liked the food so much, we came back a 2nd day to eat again. Since coming to the Philippines, this is the best Chinese food we've had.

In addition to the wonderful food and employees, the view from Rose Bowl is spectacular! You can see the beautiful trees and city down below. There is also a cool breeze blowing through that makes you feel refreshed 🌬️.
