Came at first light and got the best photos. This is an attraction that fills up with people as early as 8am. So if you wanna get nice pictures without people in it, make the trip at sunrise.
Sunrise differs at different times depending on each season - so check the weather forecast and it will tell you when.
It’s cooler than outside in here because of the coverage of the bamboo grove. So make sure you’re wearing enough as the path to walk through the forest will take you about an hour - it’s a loop.
There are vending machines inside and at halfway point you’ll find toilets too.
The first to middle part of the journey will be the bamboo groves, and then you’ll be routed to the back where you’ll see Arashiyama and the river. Then lastly coming back to the town area itself.
It’s not a very wheelchair friendly place as there are steps and stone paths, and visibility may not be 100% if you go too early. So time your visit well, so that you get sunlight to capture good pictures.
Work for your photos and live a healthy lifestyle once by waking up early like our forefathers. I did it at 5am and so can you by dunking lots of green tea to wake up. HAHAHA.
It’s nice and peaceful and you can hear the sound of the birds in the early morning and very nice to walk around.
Winter is late this year, and the koyo (autumn foliage) is still lingering around in the park at the back end of your walk.
Sunrise at Togetsugyo bridge will be there for you too :)
When you get there at first light and finish this, you’ll find yourself having lots of time to drop by another attraction early as well.
I didn’t wanna give such a valuable tip away, but if it’ll make a difference for you, it will make me happy. Have a splendid and smooth holiday wherever you are...

I recently visited the Mirador Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and was captivated by its serene beauty. This bamboo grove is a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, offering a peaceful and picturesque environment.
What I loved: Natural Beauty: The bamboo forest is lush and green, creating a calming atmosphere. The tall bamboo stalks swaying gently in the breeze are a sight to behold. Peaceful Ambiance: It's incredibly peaceful and quiet, making it an ideal spot for meditation, reflection, or simply enjoying nature. Cultural Connection: The grove is named after the famous Arashiyama Bamboo Grove in Kyoto, Japan, and offers a little taste of Japan right here in Baguio.
What could be better: Signage: Adding more signs to help visitors navigate the grove and learn more about the bamboo and its significance would enhance the experience.
Facilities: More benches and shaded areas would make it more comfortable for visitors to spend more time in the grove.
Overall, the Mirador Arashiyama Bamboo Grove is a hidden gem in Baguio City. Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat or a place to connect with nature, this grove has it all. Highly...
