GRACIANO LOPEZ JAENA PARK — Attraction in Iloilo City

I'm not sure of the distinction but Jaro Plaza and Graciano Lopez-Jaena Park share the vast stretch of rectangular lot in front of the Jaro Cathedral. My first time to visit the place was in 2019 and the park looked neglected and the statue of Mama Mary and Baby Jesus were enclosed in what seemed to be an aviary. The Marian grotto and the statue and pedestal of the Ilonggo patriot to whom the park is named were the ones spared from vandalism while the rest of the monuments for heroes were desecrated by people who were ignorant of history. Then came December 2022 and that was also our Iloilo vacation and we were again at Jaro and what an amazing, beautiful transformation that the Iloilo City LGU did to this once...

Me and my boyfriend visited Graciano López Jaena Park last August, and it was such a peaceful little stop for us. The park may be small, but it has a calm and relaxing vibe where we enjoyed spending some quiet time together. It felt nice to walk around, take a few photos, and just sit down to appreciate the surroundings.
