I'm not sure of the distinction but Jaro Plaza and Graciano Lopez-Jaena Park share the vast stretch of rectangular lot in front of the Jaro Cathedral. My first time to visit the place was in 2019 and the park looked neglected and the statue of Mama Mary and Baby Jesus were enclosed in what seemed to be an aviary. The Marian grotto and the statue and pedestal of the Ilonggo patriot to whom the park is named were the ones spared from vandalism while the rest of the monuments for heroes were desecrated by people who were ignorant of history.
