(P.S. Its name "Quartel" is actually the English pronouncing version of Spanish word "Cuartel", which means barrack.)
There are two ruin sites here which were both built in Spanish ruled period. One was a watching tower built in 1788, for preventing the Moro's attack. Another was a barrack which was not finished because Spanish retreated from Philippines after Spanish-American War in 1898.
