Stayed here for the weekend and it was definitely a wonderful holiday. The lodge is very accessible as it is walking distance to the highway to catch the bus, a few restaurants nearby to choose from and it is right on the beach. WE didn't get the chance to swim around as the tide was low during the day and we were out most of the time. But it was a perfect ambience for breakfast, get to eat facing the ocean. Place is very well maintained and water pressure is good. And like everyone else, I would highly commend the hospitality from the owner down to the staff who were all friendly and very welcoming. The whale watching area is still about 15 minutes drive away but the owner arranged this for us so all we have to do is just show up. WE did get up early to be there when they open at 6AM, kinda early but it well worked out for us since we planned to drive around and check the waterfalls. If there is anything that needs to be improved, it would be the curtains. Personally, I prefer when it is totally dark to sleep. They did use the dark colored curtain but it still let some light in especially when the light along the hallway was turned on the entire night. It did not affect my overall stay though so I would still come back here and would highly recommend this to anyone who plans to...
Read moreThe best things about this place is the friendly staff. Also the breakfast was really good. 3 scramble eggs lots of bacon with cucumbers and tomatoes. As much bread slices as your like with 3 different jams and peanut butter. They have a great view at sunrise before going to see the whale sharks but not much of a beach, you can't actually swim in it. The rooms are decent especially for the price range. Hot water shower and a sit down toilet. Also at the end of the street is a bbq food spot that was really good and cheap! The only issue for me was the distance from the whale sharks. They have a driver that charged us 500P for the drive there and back including a side stop to the falls. But if you really are only there for the day I'd suggest just staying closer to the whale sharks and save some money. But if you don't mind spending a couple dollars for a nice area that's quiet at night I'd stay here...
Read moreWe stayed just 1 night as we wanted to get up early to see the Whale Sharks. This place did not disappoint very short walk from where the bus drops you in town. Room was spotless great shower and aircon. They offer free filtered water, coffee and tea which is help yourself. The owners are really friendly they sell cold beer same price as in the local shops. Its right on the water and and easy to snorkel from. They organised the Whale watching we just had to be outside where there would be a trike driver where we would give him 400 pesos for his time and 500 pesos for the fee to see the whales. It is well worth it he does everything organises the tickets stays with you till the trip is finished and drives you back. We were going to stay close to where the whale sharks are but I believe everywhere closes at 7pm and did want to get trikes...
