Fun Parque São João — Attraction in Almada

Quite a nice activity park, the outdoor tree bridges are well made and great for older kids as well as the indoor climb centre and also the outdoor peddle kart track. Although there are many staff dotted around, I have to say that compared to other play parks they are NOT attentive at all. We came for the indoor soft play (a good size although only probably best for 3-5 year olds) and both myself and Husband were extremely surprised by the three members of staff inside barely paying any attention to the children inside the soft play. There was also a large inflatable slide that again, the staff barely glanced at. Very disappointing that a place that advertises to be a safe and fun place for children seem to also employ children who are way more focused on gossiping than actually doing their job. It was fun. I took my children, ages 9 and 11, for the arborismo (ropes) circuits and escalada (climbing). The climbing was in an open, but covered structure, so no problem if it rained. There was great variety of climbing structures and my children had a blast.

The ropes course was fun for both. Most of it is under canopy trees, so it is nicely shaded. They did the green and yellow circuits. The safety system was foolproof. My children are experienced on ropes courses, so it was not too difficult for them.

The staff was very nice and helpful. They spoke good English and Portuguese, so no problems in communication. You have to pay for parking, and you can use Via Verde if you have it. I thought the price was reasonable, 20€ for each child for the two activities.

My family loved this place so much that we visited twice during our short holiday. This place is a hidden gem. The entire crew was super attentive, kind, flexible and energetic. Although most customers were locals, all staff spoke great English. The facilities were maintained immaculately. Congratulations on a superb facility, we would love to return in a heartbeat.

A few things worth mentioning: (1) There were plenty of lockers in a range of sizes (free of charge, you just need a 1€ coin).
