The Ocean — Restaurant in Almada

Well, A restaurant manager or head waiting staff needs to take control of the waiters.

Arrived @18:30 in the evening and was given an option of inside or outside, so went with the outside. But then we were left with no menu for almost 20 minutes whilst many staff passed back and forth. Finally handed a QR code menu then left alone again. Flagged down someone to take a food order only to be told no food outside after 19:00, it was 19:15 at this point. But now inside was full and would have to go on a waiting list, but at no point when we were given the two table options were we told no food outside.

Anyway we ordered a round of cocktails, 2 came together and the third around 20 mins later, even after repeatedly asking where it might be.

I'm giving two stars, one for the great location as it does have a good vibe outside, and the caiprioska, when it did show up, was actually pretty good.

But service is completely woeful for the high amount of staff actually working there, we paid up and left to find somewhere...

I went to this restaurant with a lot of friends, we were served by a waiter called Ze and Migas that were such a cool guys, they treated our table very well and we really recommend, after we went inside to get some ice cream for us before going to the beach and were served again by such a chill dude called Miguel, he was very nice, after we went to the beach and bought some coronas to the raper guy in that beach that sang a new beat to us, we were so moved by his beautifull portuguese lyrics that we bought tickets for his next concert in "Sol da Caparaica", we really recommend this restaurant cause it give us so many beautiful memories back :) . We really loved the drinks from the guy that looked like jesus from the ghetto, the small dwarf in the bar was very nice too, such a cutie patootie, I hope to see you soon...

We had a good time as a large group, we were 6 adults and 5 children, our large order was taken quickly, nothing was forgotten, the food was generally tasty and well cooked except for the tuna in my friend's dish (there were lots of veins and difficult to chew). The menu allows choices for both those who prefer meat and those who only eat vegetables. The view is marvellous, seating is plentiful and the waiters are very friendly, especially considering our constantly running and playing children. The music was nice, light house music. Toilet was clean but there was low water pressure on the tap, this is worth adjusting. Prices are of course above average, as in any oceanfront restaurant. For a bad dish the waiter brought an extra beer as an apology, this is a very rare gesture, we thank for the hospitality and...
