This is one of my favourite place in Lisbon area!! Beautiful peacefull site with massive large soft sand beach and great powerful bodyboard waves!!! I really like this ramshackle place - the beach is big, although rougher than other places so do be aware of flags and follow lifeguard advice. Waves are better for adults and older kids.

Cova do Vapor is pretty, easy to wander about and put up without planning permission! Expect free-range dogs (therefore watch out for poo), no parking and amazing seafood. Cheap, no frills...
