Albatroz — Restaurant in Almada

Terribly aggressive and uncultured new team members ganged up on me today, asked for proof that I paid for a sunbed, after I showed the receipt (thank god I kept it!) to a strange men in beach shorts chewing on some pastry he reported back to them that I didn't pay and they actually brought me a new receipt! After which the lady who brought a new receipt took the one I showed her and spent a good half minute staring at it, examining authenticity I suppose? After I told her this could have been checked with the team instead of bothering me thrice about the sunbed, she flipped out, turned around covering me in sand in the process, after which I told her in my own language so as not to offend too much what I thought of this, she then started a scene in front of the entire restaurant screaming about disrespect and her not being my daughter or whatever! Loving this day at the beach so far. Very relaxing and considering I spent 30 euro here on simple snacks and a sunbed, just freaking awesome 😃 Maybe instead of spreading histeria, try looking up the concept of customer service or dial down the attitude! You are making money off people who come here to rest and...

We had a short stay there around 11 a.m for a drink and some food. For ordering we had to wait 30 min until the waiter came. The food was not good quality, the octopus salad doesn’t taste fresh and the coffee was only instand coffee. However, after a sunning time at the beach we came back to this restaurant due to a lack of other possibilities there. But we had to wait another 20 min until the first waiter came to take our order. Unfortunately, he told me that I am not allowed to stay in the restaurant with my dog. I told him that it is my service dog, I need him for medical reasons. However, he ignored the documents I showed him. Furthermore, the owner came himself, he spoke only Portuguese. I couldn’t unterstand them. But they showed me the exit and make me understand to go.

So finally, I cannot recommend this restaurant - not for the kitchen, not for the service and not for touristic reasons as the restaurant is near an area full of waste (see Foto)

If I could give this place -100 stars, it still wouldn’t capture how horrible the experience was.

I booked it weeks in advance for my birthday. Despite having over 20 empty tables outside by the beach, they forced our group of 14 into their indoor space that seemed like a plastic indoor box with no ventilation — a stifling, unbearable space that no one else was seated in.

When we stepped outside trying to figure out a way to seat there the staff reacted to us with hostility. One of the owners — shirtless, sweaty, and aggressive — screamed at one of my guests for briefly sitting at one of the many empty outdoor tables. His behavior was completely unhinged and beyond rude.

We left immediately. It ruined my birthday lunch, though thankfully we found a nearby place with actual hospitality.
