Nice place to visit ( specially if you take time to do the trekking around Monte da Guia, its on the way). The cost p/ person is 4 eur. Indeed not a typical aquarium that lives only from tourism. The idea here its to mixure tourism with a work place. 90% of the fishes (which are exclusively from Azores region) will be sold & transferred to other aquariums around the world or are temporarily there to be taken care off. I recommend it. The staff was nice and explain us many stuff. In the end its possible to watch a 7min video with a short explanation of the marine life...
Read moreIt was a pleasant surprise! We had been told it was small so we only went because it was included in the tour of te Dabney house. I am delighted that we did! It is indeed small, but it is a very interesting project! It is very important to have the guide explanation of how the Aquarium works, and on that I have to say Alejandro was not only professional and kind, but also his enthusiasm for his work is contagious!
