Complexo Municipal de Piscinas — Attraction in Lagoa

Wonderful place to spend a sunny day. The facility is open for swimming in the ocean pools most days that weather permits, year round. However, the snack bar, kids pool, pool, and lap pool are only open during the summer. while we are told the ocean piscina are open year round. All are great for swimming. The facilities have changing rooms, cold water rinsing showers and rest rooms that are available year round, but there are gar more open for longer hours in high season.

During summer, the snack bar offers everything from chips, sandwiches, beer, ice creams, and small pizzas. If you want drinks at poolside, request a pladtc cup with a small surcharge, but you own it and are welcome to bring it backvall summer. The staff are very helpful and friendly.

Entry fees of a few euros are charged from June to mid-September. You can also rent lounge chairs or an umbrella, 2.50 each, when you buy your ticket. After the end of high season, there is reduced lifeguard coverage and fewer staff, but no entry fee ( bring your own chair then) Update for winter: the ocean pools are usually open during daylight hours, however services are very limited. Restrooms are not always unlocked, though there is usually at least one changing room and shower open and the lifeguard has opened a restroom for us upon request once

One of our favorite summer spots, and now that we have a house in Lagoa, we enjoy buying the season pass and going here at least once or...

Pool with services is very ok - cosy. Only 2.2 € for the day and sunbeds/umbrellas for 2€/1.5€. If you want to relax, avoid the side next to the harbour as later in the afternoon the local youths will show off their diving skills. If you like that - go there of course ( they are noisy but friendly).

The cafeteria "aquabar" though is to avoid; I ordered the lomo sandwich and it was really 'off'. It smelled and instead of apologizing, the waiter tells us that it's "freshly made" - a joke. I had a bite and regretted that.

Stick to stuff without any risk like fries and avoid the rest ... Better yet : drinks in bottles.

My wife chose a tuna salad but there is no salad to be seen - not even a tomato. It's only beans, egg and a bit off tuna and also here the waiter argues that it is as it should be - according to the recipe - very funny guy. Nothing fresh to be found here.

That is not a problem : you can go out and back in to the pool complex with your ticket the whole day and there are plenty of good bars and restaurants within a couple of...

A beautiful natural publicly owned space that charges a small fee in the summer months which we assume is to cover costs, all good. Then they have the audacity to tell girls that they must dress appropriately because showing their chest is disturbing to children... come on, be better please. The 'boss' is stuck so far in the past that he chose to make a huge scene attracting the attention of everyone else in the vicinity all of whom had previously barely noticed or cared that there were girls tanning their upper body.

After being kicked out he tried his best to refuse to offer a refund and reluctantly agreed not when any of the three girls asked him but only when I, the only man, asked.

Highlight of the day: having someone try and explain to us why man and women should have different rights because their bodies are different just at the same moment a man with larger breasts than any of the 'offensive party'...
