Seven Hanging Valleys Trail is a not-to-miss hike in the Algarve. This 6-kilometer route is known for its breathtaking scenery. It offers spectacular views of the rugged coast, limestone cliffs, picturesque beaches, and natural caves. Details : 🕜 Time – from 2 hours (but we took lots of breaks for pictures and to chill at the beaches on the way, so it took us 4 hours) ⛰️Total ascent – 210m ⛰️ Total descent – 228m 🚶♀️Difficulty – moderate Starting point – Praia do Vale de Centianes Finishing point – Praia da Marinha Walking route – Praia do Vale de Centianes – Alfanzina Lighthouse (at 1 km) - Praia do Carvalho (at 2,5 km) - Benagil (at 4 km) - Praia da Marinha ( at 6 km) You can also start Marinha and end at Centianes but I choose to end at Marinha because it is one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in Europe and hence it felt like a final reward after the hike. The hike is marked but if you still lose your way, just keep walking along the cliff and enjoy the beauty all along. Bonus Tip : Please carry 2 bottles of water and a snack with you because there are no shops on the entire trail except at Benagil. And don't underestimate the sun. Carry a Hat and lots of sunscreen. #sevenhangingvalleyswalk #trail #hikelife #hiketrail #travelhike

We visited Praia do Vale de Centeanes yesterday, all 4 of us. My wife, daughter and our little dog Vinnie. We bought a few drinks at the only restaurant on the beach and were only charged for 3 drinks, because the 4th drink, a bottle of water was for Vinnie our family dog and the friendly staff member behind the counter said our dog drinks for free! 😂Lol, that was very kind of them. Finding a table, we sipped on our fresh orange drinks overlooking the beach and ocean. There was enough shade and the staff super friendly. Very happy to say we had a great couple of hours and won’t hesitate to visit here again. You can also eat at the restaurant as well as book cave tours by boat and launch from the same beach. My good wife had booked a tour before and said it was a worth while experience. A good afternoon was had.

Small enclosed beach, good for a swim, sunbathing & boat trips around the coast & local caves. The surrounding high coastline & rocky caves are pretty but not for hands on exploring due to rock fall danger. Small cafe/bar & good restaurants locally (within 15-20 minute walk) busy in the high season but still not beyond full. Brisk 15 minute walk to Carvoiero centre. Medium- strong tidal cove for competent or supervised swimmers, check tides before going

Really nice beach. Go early to be able to park if driving. Easy access to the beach via good steps and walkway. There is a nice cafe with lower seating over looking the beach. The beach is fairly large and can certainly cope with peak times without appearing crowded. A few activities on offer as well kayaks, cove boats etc. Certainly one of the beaches you should visit if in the area.

Spectacular views. But unfortunately today the beach was full of seaweed and gnats. Late September, so maybe the time of year. Within 5 minutes our feet were covered with them. We stayed about two hours. The boat tours to the caves that leave from here seem reasonably priced. Hoping the seaweed and gnats go away.
