The marina is too expensive, defensive and not at all transparent - which all adds up to an unfriendly perception.....as testified by other reviews across all apps/platforms) all in relation to providing facilities to visiting people who come by yacht tender (eg for showers, or to go to town, or your bar, or to get water). The marina people here need to understand that the place is so overfull with the usual small sports fishing boats that there is just not enough capacity for yachts who want to visit. They therefore HAVE to anchor and come in by tender...catching a ferry every time is not feasible. Part of your service should be to plan and provide, reasonably, for this actuality, which you don't. It is a shame, as the town front is a nice place to visit. The marina people need to understand what business they are in and look forward to the future, not the past - it's leisure and tourism, being the receptive face of Portugal first and foremost, not extending the life of a non-sustainable, environmentally damaging, 'fishing' community that brings little direct employment and investment to the town and its people,...

Read moreWe were anchored with our boat and wanted to go ashore with the dinghy. While looking for a dinghy dock, we asked the watertaxis if we could leave our dinghy at their jetty for a few hours. Everyone was very friendly and said it would be no problem and showed us where we could leave our dinghy. When we came back, our dinghy had disappeared and a local from the jetty said that staff from Porto Recreio de Olhao had towed our dinghy away. When I arrived at the marina, the dinghy was chained up and I had to pay 70 euros for the service. What else...
