We don't think you could ask for more at this contemporary apartment. It is extremely clean, fresh and modern with every convenience. All the rooms are spacious, freshly decorated and well air-conditioned. A fully functioning kitchen with all the the utilities and loads of storage makes it a great self-catering option and it is perfect if you have teenagers who love access to technology. The apartment building was always quiet and the roof-top pool and sun area just enough for a late afternoon rest before strolling down to Olhao to spend an evening at one of the many restaurants on offer. Parking on site, right outside the building, was never an issue; taxis were available and I believe the local bus service was good too. Few minutes walk to well known supermarkets for all your supplies, plus fresh produce and bakery. The Apartment Manager, Eduarda, was welcoming and amazingly helpful even offering to pick us up when our rental car broke down! The "Hyde Guide" in the sitting room provided lots of helpful information regarding the apartment, local tourist spots and useful advice which I am sure will be added to by the owners and visitors in the future. The location really is fantastic as you are within easy travelling distance to Faro airport and the historic town itself. The neighbouring villages and coastline are stunning. Olhao is a gem; great places to stop for a drink or eat, friendly people, a variety of shops and markets and access to beautiful off shore islands and their sandy beaches (either by private boat tour or the ferry). Loads more interesting places to explore nearby such as Tavira, Loule and Estoi, or walking and wine-tasting up in the hills. Alternatively, if you want to spend a few hours in the car, you can take a trip further afield to Albufeira, Lagos, Lisbon or even east into Spain. What a fantastic and large apartment to have as our base in Olhao. It was a real home from home with all that you would need including a fully equipped kitchen, beach towels, hairdryers in each room, plenty of plug and USB sockets, books, games and a fantastic internet speed. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into the place. The internet TV did buffer quite a lot which we expected but there is normal TV with some English channels and the owners have added PRIME TV though we were too busy to watch any of it! The welcome pack was a really nice touch! Rooms were beautifully presented with very comfy beds and with the use of lovely electric shutters keeping the light out we all managed to sleep very well. Our party was 2 adults and 3 kids of ages 10, 13 and 17, so quite a range of ages to keep entertained!! We had mixed weather but still managed to find things to do including Ten Pin bowling and mini golf in Albufeira. We did the 3-island boat tour which included lunch on the Farol island which was a full and enjoyable day. We hired a car which was a must for us but you could easily get by with local transport and get a taxi to and from the airport. The ferries to the Ria Formosa islands are a pleasant walk along the promenade which is lined with restaurants and you also get to look in the fish and fruit and veg markets which is highly recommended. It was nice to walk into a beautiful, comfortable and spotlessly clean apartment. We loved the apartment it is so quiet and peaceful within easy walking to the restaurants, markets and the shops. The pool area on the roof is a wonderful place to take in the sun, relax with a good book. The food markets are to die for a very large fish and vegetable markets with all the food you need to cook at home if that is your preference, in a very large fully equipped kitchen at the apartment. A walk to the ferry terminal to catch a ferry or a water taxi to visit the islands is a must, the beaches some 9 kilometres long with beautiful sands with restaurants/bars for your enjoyment.
