Amazing! 5 stars truly deserved! Sandra (if I remember correctly) was amazing & the captain as well. Very friendly, helpful, honest and just simply well rounded. With only 4 days in Algarve we couldn't find any last minute availability to take a boat tour near the caves. I came across Ocean4Fun on a google search and called (in english, afraid I would say something in portuguese incorrectly) and spoke to Sandra. She was informative and had the availability we needed. Not too long passed when she called back (I answered in portuguese this time) and she advised me of her honest opinion based upon the 7 people who were coming on the tour with me including my daughter, 7 years old and my grandparents, 86 & 92. She offered us a boat she thought from experience would fit our family better. I immediately agreed and asked to reserve the spot. Upon arrival, she recognized me instantly and welcomed us on board openly and willingly. When I say she is well rounded I mean in everything! Personally, and people skills too. She spoke 3 languages - Portuguese, English & Spanish. We even joked about me being shy to speak portuguese and she encouraged me to speak it & stated that I spoke it very well. Herself and the captain took it upon themselves to assist my grandparents whom couldn't walk very fast ... they dropped them off to the marina so their walk was reduced by half.
I couldn't be more happier and pleased with this company and these two GENEROUS people.
Thank you! Obrigado por...
Read moreI went on the kayak tour to the caves with my family, but nobody liked it. Here are some things to consider before you decide to go on this tour (because they aren't specified anywhere on the website.) You go to the caves with a speed boat and then you get on a kayak. The speed boat is not enjoyable for people with back pain, weak knees or prone to seasickness. The kayak tour isn't too difficult, but it isn't easy either. We went on a good day, but the surrounding boats created waves that made staying aboard the kayak harder and made the job of steering the kayak more difficult that it would normally be. You may also continue to experience seasickness on the kayak because of the strong waves. The water is pretty dirty because of all the boats.
If you decide to book this tour, remember to wear clothes that you don't mind getting wet (preferably just your swimsuit). Bring a hat and a waterproof backpack for your personal items (you can leave your stuff on the boat, but you may want to bring your phone with you). Also, in the cave there is nothing, so bringing a small towel to lay down on the sand would be a great idea.
I recommend this tour to young people that already know how to kayak.
All in all, my bad rating is for the lack of information on the website, not because of the experience itself. The staff was nice, the tour just wasn't our cup of tea. If I were the owner of this establishment, I would add information on...
Read moreTerrible organisation. We booked for 9am & got there at 8.40am. At 9.10am we called them as they had not arrived they gave their first excuse of "The time now is 9.10, you were meant to be at the pick up spot at 8.45am, you have missed your timeslot" - us along with 15 other people were at the pick up spot and had not seen anyone. We called them again 20mins later, she said she would be 5mins as she was taking the boats down the bottom for us, 20mins later we still had not seen anyone. We called again and the lady gave us her third excuse of talking to an ambulance as her colleague was unwell (later told us he was having a panic attack - I didn't believe this at all). After 1.5hrs we waited down the bottom as advised for which we found no boats or SUPS had been taken down, in the end we were given two SUPS (but others in our group still had to wait for their kayak). The SUPS were rubbish, 1 tiny fin, not pumped up enough and one didn't have an ankle leash. Huge...
