This is an fantastic area, the sand is beautiful and soft and so clean. There is a large carpark next to the beach, which wasn't crowded. The water is clean and clear and very still. There is some really cool caves/ hollowed out rocks just around the corner. Just as you get round to the main beach there are a couple of beach bars that sell food and drinks. This beach is about 1 km long inside the bay / harbour and the mouth of the river Arade on one side you have Portimao (sunset pic) and on beach side you have the lovely fishing town of Ferragudo all amenities close by its perfect for a young family as there are no waves except the ones caused by passing boats so perfect if you have toddlers and it makes a lovely stopover if you are sailing or in a camper .Fishing is also good...
