A few very old walls, if you're coming looking for history you'll be disappointed, if you're looking for a shady resting spot, a place for kids to run around and well maintained toilets then this is the place for you. Some building work is going on close by at the time of writing.

Alvor Castle isn't really a castle, just a few remains that have been converted into a children's play area. Wouldn't make a special visit to the castle, but if you're in the village with children, it's a nice place to stop for a rest, as it's nicely shaded and there are some public toilets here (which were impressively clean when we visited). Good place to stop and let kids play - basic climbing frame, slide and swings.

Ok, I'm rating the area itself, not the actual castle. It's worth it to go there and check out the local pubs, restaurants, and waterfront. The actual attraction itself is, well, meh.

O que resta do Castelo desta bonita, antiga e simpática vila. Hoje restam apenas uns panos de muralha que mal se vêem do exterior (estão tapados pelas casas à volta) mas no seu interior, onde agora há um parque infantil, consegue se vislumbrar a muralha do Castelo. O acesso é feito por uma pequena entrada e passagem do lado norte, no Largo. Vale a pena passar por lá para perceber a importância histórica deste local.
