Restinga Ria — Restaurant in Portimão

We stayed in Alvor for a week at the end of June and we found this restaurant the first morning whilst looking for the farmers market. There were 10 of us and we just dropped in for a coffee. Because of how the menu looked we decided to go back the same evening. Well what a great choice it turned out to be . Our waiter Oliver was absolutely brilliant, he knew exactly how to work a table and his knowledge of the menu was impressive, It was mainly a fish restaurant and I am not normally a fishy person, I shared seabass with another family member and it was cooked differently than I have had before and it was amazing. We had a brilliant evening and booked to go back 2 days later for my sister-in-laws birthday. That also turned out to be a great night again Oliver ended up as our waiter. One of our party needed her food pureed and had not been with us the first time. A waiter called Nunes tried serving us first as it turned out Oliver was just on his break, As nice as he was Nunes could not grasp the meaning of pureed. In stepped Oliver who had it sorted in no time and our family member had a lovely meal, On this visit I had Red Snapper which was again amazing. To cap off the evening that supplied a birthday cake without us knowing and it tasted brilliant my sister in law loved it. Great Breakfast, Amazing Hospitality at Restinga Ria

We stumbled upon Restinga Ria while looking for a breakfast spot close to our Airbnb in Alvor. We had our luggage with us and weren't keen on lugging them around town while we waited for check-in.

Restinga Ria was perfect! The breakfast was delicious, and the waitress (or maybe even the manager?) was incredibly friendly and offered to let us store our luggage in the back of the restaurant so we could explore town hassle-free! Thankfully, our Airbnb became available sooner than expected, and we didn't need to take her up on her kind offer.

We ended up lingering longer than planned, enjoying a few afternoon beers with that beautiful view of the inner harbor. The staff was fantastic, the food was tasty, and the view was delightful. Highly recommend...

We pre booked the table and while waiting to be seated the concierge decided to have a lengthy discussion with another customer & seated them while we just waited. We were then taken to our table which was in the middle of the restaurant in the main thoroughfare & elbow to elbow to the next table. Seafood risotto was okay but too messy to eat at such a small table. They had ran out of desserts we wanted & ended up with an apple pie & not an almond dessert we asked for. However the staff were lovely . We chose this restaurant due to the good reviews it had received, but we came away sadly...
