Buganvilia — Restaurant in Portimão

This restaurant was recommended to us and was a bit of a disappointment. The food was just okay. I had the steak served with vegetables and chips. The vegetables seemed as if they were steamed and bland. The chips were okay, slightly cold. The meat was fine. When we were led to the table, there was bread cheese, and these meat squares on the table. They were the appetizers automatically delivered to the table without ordering them. I am not a fan of this. I prefer to order appetizers on our own and be notified of the charges to be incurred. The waiter was not overly friendly or helpful. The food was served, and we never received another visit back to the table. I asked for a condiment, and it was brought to the table and a bottle that was totally empty. Dessert was not homemade, and was a prepared takeout dessert. I was definitely surprised by this. Overall, two of my friends had fish dishes and said the fish was good, but the four of us were not happy with the service or lack there of. We decided to try this place due to great location . The waiter was very friendly ( at first ) . Mussels we ordered were very small and quite poor . We both ordered the fillet steak with the tiger prawn , the prawn was nice but both steaks were absolutely awful !! Over Cooked and very stringy …… i ate one bite and immediately took plate into restaurant from Outside to complain as it was absolutely shocking how poor the steak was !! Waiter was very defensive and rude - stating “it’s hard sometimes “ and kept accusing me of interrupting him etc ….. seems customer is always wrong in this place ?? Seems they are purchasing the cheapest / poorest meat and passing off at premium prices to me...
