There's so much to see for 20 lei (€4). You'll get a guide/map with your ticket but there's really only one way to go in most situations.

The route is awesome for anyone passionate about history and architecture. It takes you through Roman and medieval times, with plenty to see and read about. The route takes you indoor and outdoors.

Specifically for the outdoors section you'll be able to see the fortifications, the cannons, several gates, and sculptures representing important moments and historical figures. The indoors will have you visiting prison cells, dining

There's also a 12PM cannon salve but that's not active during...

I'd say it's a must see if you're interested in the history of the city, there are multiple sights on route, from the remains of roman fortifications to the bastion, the dungeon, cannons etc. There are signs pointing you in the right direction and the route is pretty straightforward, so it's impossible to miss anything. Some of the explanations are Romanian only, unfortunately, so if you don't speak Romanian make sure you keep your translation app handy. The price for a ticket was 20...

This is the not so filled not so free route to visit the Citadel. It takes you trough (like the name says) the 3 most emportant eras on the Citadels life and it's very well restored. The information is provided just enough and you have time to take your own route. Just make sure you have food and water as you will only find bathrooms to use inside. The price is a bit too high as well and I'd say it can be a bit of a put off if you are not particularly interested in seeying ALL of...

This was the best thing we did in Alba Iulia— by far. This short walk around the grounds was simply fantastic! So much thought went into it. If there is anything we would suggest: a map in English and some more history information in English. We ended up researching as we went on our phones, but that kinda takes the experiential fun out of it. Still, a great attraction!
