Is an interesting ride, beautiful view, you can see Sinaia from above and a bit from neighbour towns medium to low cost. The scratched windows might limit the view(the reason for the 4 stars), and the cabin is usually shared with around 10 people. At 2000m, nice mountain view and few trails if you like walks, in summer, vegetation consist of flowers, a lot of wild thyme which smells beautiful. In winter, many ski slopes to explore, ranging from easy to difficult. At 1400m, 2 restaurants with great food and also trails, I particularly enjoyed the forest path. For the young and brave, in summer, you can buy a one way ticket to go up and walk on the way back. There is plenty of vegetation and wild flowers that can be enjoyed. In winter, 1-2 ski slopes. Recommend as at least 1 time experience for 2000m in summer and for ski in winter. I go each year to 1400 in the summer and enjoy...
Read moreMake sure you choose well which company you want to travel to the mountains with in Sinaia, as there are multiple ways. The modern system is called Telegondola, the older one is the Telecabina. This one getting old + EU funds might have added to the construction of a new lift. Signs for the older Telecabina are lacking, even if it's actually looking popular with local tourists. The general impression let's you worry about the safety of the old Telecabina; it's certainly cheaper than the Telegondola though. Decide yourself.
Or wonder whether you want to go in Summer anyway: there's nothing much at the first stop, but it way be a starting point for hiking and mountain biking. At the second (mountain top), they're promising a good view. Instead, you literally get dropped on a construction site with a lot of nothingness. Waste of time. All the fun is...
Read moreVery efficient cable cars. Up to 1,400 altitude they are equipped with a bit of an old cable car that works perfectly fine. However, up to 2,000 altitude, brand new modern cable cars are in use which are comfortable and ideal to take photos of such a beautiful view below. We highly recommend anyone visiting to think ahead as there are lots of people visiting and important to wear a jacket. Fair to mention that a two way ticket costs a mere 95ron (approx €20) which takes you as high as 2,000 on altitude. Sinaia is a beautiful town and so are...
