We were here for eight weeks (Feb/Mar/April) and were well-satisfied during our stay.||||1.) It's close to the Frunzenskaya Metro (100 meters)||2.) The kitchenette allows for in-room meals - there's no restaurant on-site||3.) Daily room service -- change towels and sheets as needed||4.) Our room had a Murphy bed (wall bed) that closed during the day giving more space. Mattress quality was good -- firm not squishy. Pillows were a bit soft (synthetic fill)||5.) We did notice the walls can be a bit "thin" -- the floors are not carpeted and sound travels between rooms. For three nights during our stay we had some energetic kids in rooms down the hall and we were well aware of their "enthusiasm". Otherwise q quiet stay.||6.) The attached floor plan shows approx. room sizes. We had room 410 which was good sized. The bathroom was VERY spacious. Our room faced the street, but the windows were closed most of the time (duh...Feb - April visit) so street noise wasn't a problem. I can't say about summer months.||7.) The internet/Wi-Fi worked fine. One does need to re-log on every day or so, and use the password provided by the front desk.||8.) Daily newspaper available (Russian Kommersant...)||9.) There is a washer/dryer available (small cost to use). That allows for easier packing if you're staying longer than a week||10.) The "gym" is not impressive. Three machines in a small room. I suggest keeping the window open when using -- it can smell like a gym :-)||11.) Nice touch with a shoe cleaner/polisher in the front lobby. St. Petersburg is a walking/public transportation city. It was nice being able to clean one's shoes as needed.||12.) The business center was under renovation during our stay; there is a notary on the 2nd floor if you need documents certified||13.) We had a car for the first two weeks of our stay, and there is a first-come/first served parking yard behind the hotel. Space there is not guaranteed.||14.) Because of our extended stay, we qualified for a 20% discount. Our nightly rate for the two-months was about $30/night (Think Hampton Inn ambiance, only nicer) ||||Rates were...
Read moreThis has got to be the worst hotel I've every stayed at. The closest metro station to the hotel was closed for renovation for 2 year during my stay. This information was not mentioned anywhere on the hotel's website. I think they did not want people to know that. So the location is literally the worst - too far to walk to the city (about 1 hour walk away from city centre) and too far to walk to the next metro station (about 35 minutes walk to the next one). The rooms don't have AC. And if you think summer in St Petersburg is not hot, think again. It was extremely hot and stuffy inside the rooms. The windows are designed to only be able to open a little. So opening the window helps very little. My room faces the main road. So you either can't sleep becuae it's hot or can't sleep because noisy. During summer, the sun never sets here. And the curtains in this hotel is very thin. So it's constantly too bright to sleep. Opening up the window also allows mosquito to come in. I caught at least 2. However there is more to come. Now a normal hotel with central AC would have no such problem. Just close the window, insulate from the noise and heat, turn on the AC and you would have a good night's sleep. But not this place. The rooms are also very dirty. Stains and scums everywhere. The gym had like 3 equipment and 1 of them was broken. Although they advised themselves to be multilingual, only one staff member was able to speak English and most of the time he wasn't around. The breakfast was very overpriced. I was counting the minutes til the day I check out....
Read moreThe hotel is very well located on the Moskovskiy Prospekt, one of the cities arterial roads. It is a 12-storied building and has two lifts, a luggage room, a laundromat and a gym too. You can use the laundromat for a nominal fee.||||They didnt have hot water on the first day so they actually gave us a 10% discount. ||||We didnt opt for the breakfast plan, we just bought stuff from the supermarket and the cafe below, a veyr reasonable option specially given that we are vegetarian and font always have much to choose from a breakfast spread.||||Since we 4 adults and 1 child, we took a two room suite and for once, didnt regret the decision. We were given a suite on the highest floor, lovely views, two large rooms with attached bathrooms and the larger room of the two was very spacious, with a dining area and a kitchenette. ||||They dont have an AC, but even in August, it wasnt too hot plus we ask them for table fans, which worked perfectly at night, we even kept the windows open. ||||Housekeeping does the dishes...
