Riyadh Water Tower — Attraction in Al Futah District

AL WATAN PARK - RIYADH WATER TOWER Hello Everyone, Had a great time with my family at this park. Very Very Nice and Clean Park. Big Park. Main attractions is the boat ride and the small train ride in the centre of the park. While you are in the ride you can enjoy watching the miniatures of the important landmarks of Riyadh and Saudi Arabia such as Abha Mountains, Desert Campings, Riyadh Airport etc. Entrance Tickets - 12 SAR per person. Park is maintained with good lighting. Sweet Corn, Ice Cream, Popcorn and Fresh Juices, Pizza available. Very important message, I want to convey to everyone is that its better if you could bring your food and snacks and drinks. Because we went on a friday night, it's too much crowded and to a pizza and orange we have spent almost 1 hour. That's why. Separate tickets for individual games inside and separate 10 SAR tickets to go to the top of the Water Tower, lift available to go to the top of the Water Tower. A cafeteria is located in the top of the Water Tower. You can enjoy your hot coffee in the top with view of Kingdom Tower and night view of Riyadh. One important information, the lift operation is only for the weekends Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Remaining days they are not operating. We enjoyed watching the dance of bunch of glowns / jokers dancing for the Indian Hindi Songs in the stage. And it lasted for 15 minutes exactly. Really amazing. Don't bring Bicycle, e-scooter, wave roller etc. for your child, there is no space for this. Better use all activities within the park. So many colourful and fast rides and enjoy. . "Riyadh's Water Tower"- 1969 Known by locals as "Burj Al-khazzan" it served as a water tank for the new neighborhoods of riyadh at that time. . It was originally colored in Black and white but has been changed to blue and brown. The tower was the main Landmark of Riyadh since 1969 until a higher tower was built in 2000 (Alfaisaliah). . The technique used while building that mushroom-like tower is quite interesting. Firstly the head of the mushroom was built right on the ground. Then it was jacked up, and its shaft was then built under it as it rose.(swipe left to see the Photo) . The architect has made several copies of that work arround the world. The first was in Örebro-Sweden 🇸🇪 the second and biggest copy so far is the one here in Riyadh. Then Sheikh Jaber of Kuwait has requested the architect to build 9 smaller copies of it in Kuwait. . . . . . 🚪: You can buy a ticket for 10 SR to get up to the top of the tower and have a view of the City. . برج مياه الرياض" الذي بُني منذ (45) عاماً، وتحديداً في العام (1391ه)،

في عهد جلالة المغفور له -بإذن الله- الملك "فيصل بن عبدالعزيز"، فتمَّ الشروع في تنفيذ هذا المشروع الضخم وذلك في عام (1391ه)، واختير المهندس السويدي "ساوني لينستروم" لتنفيذ المشروع، حيث عمد أولاً إلى بناء العمود الأسطواني الذي يحمل البرج فوق قاعدة من الخرسانة المسلحة تستند على طبقة صخرية من الحجر الرملي الكلسي وعمق تصلب من (17) متراً تحت سطح الأرض، وعندما تمَّ تشييد هذا العمود الأسطواني صُبَّ الخزان على أرض الواقع على قاعدة العمود الاسطواني في الأرض، ويعود السبب في التنفيذ بهذه الطريقة إلى عدم توفر "سقالات" عالية قويَّة في ذلك الوقت بحيث تتمكن من حمل الشكل المخروطي حين بنائه وهو في الأعلى؛ لأنَّه كان يتوجب بناء الشكل المخروطي ككتلة واحدة تجنباً للتشقُّق والانكسارات وتهريب المياه نتيجة الضغط الهائل للماء، وبعد عمليات التفتيش والاختبار والدهان رُفعت أجزاء هذا الخزان واحدة بعد الأخرى بواسطة (32) رافعة ضخمة، كلٌ منها باستطاعتها حمل (200) طن، وهكذا رُفع الشكل المخروطي وبُني الجسم الأسطواني عدَّة أمتار حتى تم الانتهاء من الارتفاع المطلوب، فصار بناؤه أشبه بنبتة تطلع من أسفل الأرض إلى الأعلى.

خزانا البرج

ويتكون البرج من خزانين، أحدهما رئيس طاقته (12) ألف متر مكعب من المياه، ويصل أعلى منسوب للماء فيه إلى (51) مترا فوق سطح الأرض، والآخر علوي يستخدم لزيادة قوة الضغط خلال فترات الاستهلاك القصوى، وطاقته الاستيعابية تبلغ (350) متراً مكعباً من المياه، كما يصل منسوب الماء فيه كحد أقصى إلى (58) متراً فوق سطح الأرض، وقد شُيِّد العمود الأسطواني الذي يحمل البرج فوق قاعدة من الخرسانة المسلحة المستندة بدورها على طبقة صخرية من الأحجار الرملية والجيرية الصلبة بعمق (17) متراً تحت سطح الأرض، ويحتوي البرج على مصعدين بسرعة عالية، وتمَّ طلاء البرج باللونين الأسود والأبيض، وبعد مرور (35) عاماً تمَّ تغيرهما إلى اللونين السماوي والبني الفاتح، وقد صُمِّم الخزان الرئيس ليكون ذو قدرة تخزينيَّة كبيرة إذ يستوعب (12) ألف متر مكعب من المياه، ويصل أعلى مستوى للمياه فيه إلى (51) متراً فوق سطح الأرض، وشُيِّدت فوق هذا الخزان غرفةً دائرية بحيث تكون مطعماً ذا شكل دائري وبنوافذ كبيرة يستطيع الزائر من خلالها النظر لمشاهدة المدينة من كل اتجاه، وسقف هذه الغرفة مخروطي الشكل يشكل قاعدة الخزان العلوي الذي يستخدم لزيادة قوة الضغط خلال فترات الاستهلاك القصوى، وطاقته الاستيعابيَّة (350) متراً مكعباً من المياه، ويصل منسوب الماء فيه كحد أقصى إلى (58) متراً...
