🕌🙏 A Serene Prayer Experience at مسجد المدي 🙌

Recently, I had the opportunity to offer prayer at the beautiful mosque, مسجد المدي, which is conveniently located close to the National Museum 🗺️. The mosque is a serene and peaceful place, especially during prayer times 🙏.

👉 The atmosphere inside the mosque is calm and tranquil, making it an ideal place for worship and reflection 🙌.

👉 The mosque's architecture and design are also noteworthy, adding to the overall sense of serenity and spirituality 🕊️.

👉 Unfortunately, the ablution facility was closed for maintenance purposes 🚧, which was a bit of an inconvenience 🤔.

👉 Additionally, parking in front of the mosque can be tricky 🚗😬, due to the busy road and limited parking spaces 🚧.

👉 Despite these minor issues, the overall experience of praying at مسجد المدي was wonderful 🙏.

The mosque's proximity to the National Museum makes it a great option for those visiting the area 🗺️.

This is a small mosque that is well maintained and clean, even for the women's section. At first I had a bit of difficulty finding the location for the ablution and toilet areas in the women's section, which turned out to be like a separate section at the back. يرجع تاريخ بناء المسجد إلى بداية الستينيات الهجرية من القرن الماضي، وقد ظل على بنائه الشعبي لحين افتتاح مركز الملك عبدالعزيز التاريخي عام 1419هـ حيث هدم ضمن مشروع تطوير الواجهة الشرقية للمركز. وقد أعيد بناء مسجد المدي في نفس موقعه القديم وزيدت مساحته وحجم مبانيه بحيث أصبح واقعا على الضفة الغربية لشارع الملك فيصل مباشرة، كما أنه يشكل الزاوية الشمالية الغربية لحديقة المدي. وقد اعتبر في تصميمه أن يتناسب مع المستوى العمراني الذي تتمتع به منشآت المركز، فالمسجد يحمل عناصر عمارة المساجد المحلية من وجود الفناء (السرحة) ودرج المئذنة، بالإضافة إلى بعض العناصر الجمالية المشابهة للحداير في العمارة المحلية. وقد أنشئ مسجد المدي بنظام الحوائط الحاملة والطوب المضغوط من التربة الطينية، حيث بني المسجد والمئذنة بالطوب المضغوط وبني السور الخارجي بالعروق الطينية المدكوكة. وتتمتع هذه التقنية بملاءمتها البيئية، خصوصا في منطقة الرياض، وانخفاض كلفة موادها، وخصائصها الفيزيائية الجيدة، من حيث مقاومتها للمياه ومحافظتها على الطاقة ومرونتها. ويمتاز المسجد بالقباب والعقود والقبوات، وهي عناصر معمارية فرضتها تقنية بناء المسجد: الحوائط الحاملة، والطوب الجاف (المضغوط)، ويعتبر المسجد من أوائل المنشآت المعمارية في المملكة التي تبنى بهذه التقنية، وتقدر أبعاد مسجد المدي بـ 25 × 14 متراً بارتفاع 6 أمتار، كما أنه يتسع لـ(500) مصل ويبلغ ارتفاع مئذنته...
