This upscale, high-rise hotel near the business district, the real and old city center of Riyadh, near the fork Maskmak Fort built in 1865. Nearby you can still see old mud houses from 26th floor panorama lounge. The restaurant Al Nakheel is on second floor. Here is my review from 18th August visit on the sea food special night with family. For the price of SR 85($23) per person its highly recommended once to visit on special sea food special night.

I had to quarantine here for 6 days after returning back for work. Firstly on the first night after checking in at 9 p.m. they arranged the room and let us in a room at midnight and then the dinner was served at 1 a.m.
Then for next day dinner there was cold rubber like spaghetti with a couple of pieces of dry seasoningless meat(kebab I think). Since they only provide the main meals and no snacks whatsoever I had to force it down so as to not go hungry. Every other meal was horrible as well and usually cold by the time it was provided.
The bathroom was full of gnats. There were no toiletries and the shower water drains were clogged and kept filling up the washroom everytime I took a shower. No replacement towels or bedding were provided except for those already present for the entire 6 days.
There was only 2 packets of tea in the room and when it ran out on the second day morning and I called the front desk for a refill they didn't bother to send anyone. And then I called again in the evening and a few hours later, around 10 p.m. a couple of more packets of tea were finally sent upto my room along with lot of coffee which I didn't want.
They did a swab test for covid on the second day of arrival and that day all the people in quarantine was put into a small meeting room and were made to wait 3hrs before they did the test. The next test was the day before the end of quarantine and neither of the results were provided on the day of checking out.
On the day of the check out all the people in quarantine were checked out of the rooms. And we all were again put in to a meeting room of sort where we were told to wait for 4+ hours without any refreshments except for some bottles of water. Then finally when we spoke up, we were verbally abused and shouted at by the staff. They kept saying that the reports were not back and they couldn't let us leave and also if we wanted to go back to the room then I had to pay again for the room.
The Saudi staff at the hotel were extremely rude and arrogant and had no idea how to treat or talk to guests. It was an extremely hostile situation and frankly was quite scary. Finally I had to contact my office and get someone to come there and they told the hotel to either give the test results which they are responsible for or to let me go. To which they finally agreed. I had to go and get a test done privately later next day.
So the whole quarantine was a total sham as the people in quarantine were let go without any test results. All they cared about was making money out of this situation and I wasted 6 days and a ridiculous amount of money...
Read moreI have traveled a lot but, I have never seen staff like this in any hotel in the world. They don’t know to deal with costumers. I am not sure if training courses will help them. Afternoon the 1st day both cards did not work in my door which made me go down asking to reactivate the cards again. The agent did not ask me anything. One hour later other agent asked me by phone if I wanted to extend my stay I said yes at least 2-3 days. Two hours later the assistance manager knocked my door asking me if I wanted to extend my stay and ignoring ‘Don’t disturb singe’ that was on my door. 2nd day afternoon the same thing happened both cards did not work and I had to go down to reactivate them which made me very upset and checked out. The agents justified the system behind this. So be careful four points to tell costumers you have bad system (I have master degree in information system management). I called reception the 1st knight to check if there is a printer in the business center and replied yes there is one colored and black and with. The next morning I went to print some documents and did not find any printers in there. I went to the reception to ask which guided me to other agent told me the printer is out of service and he would help me. I gave him my flash memory and printed 6 pages B&W then after that asked if I wanted to pay cash or billed to my room. Why did not tell the truth from the beginning, there is no printer in the business center and the hotel need more money so hired an agent to print and collect money. Many questions to ask the assistance manager: Why did not the agent took deposit authorization for many days? Why did not ask the agents dealt with the customer before the customer? How to ask the customer politely without insulting him then apologize when discovering the dispute created because of the hotel not the customer? ………….. …………ext. I am so disappointed. I want to see what four...
