The restaurant/bar at the top is one of the most over-rated place in Dakar, and the competition is rude in this category ! The real experience is to walk, run, exercise like locals, up to the top of the hill, without going to the restaurant. Unfortunately, one can see they are urbanizing (destroying?) the natural area around the hill, so even the walk become less and less pleasant. Regarding the restaurant, each time I ate there, I have been super disappointed in terms of service and price/quality.

The staff at the bottom of the road, where you can wait for the bus, is more than often rude and don't sound to care much. But remember you don't have to take the bus, you can walk to the top, for free. The mini-bus that operates and takes people up to the top of the hill always drives way too fast. The staff at the entrance of the restaurant is also more than often rude and unattentive.

Now you have to pay 5,000 cfa per person to enter the restaurant and, if you want, to visit the lighthouse itself. Those 5,000 cfa can also be used to pick from a list of predetermined drinks at the restaurant and enjoy the view from...
