The biggest park in part of Belgrade called Zemun. It spreads all the way from one of the oldest highschools to center of the city and small square in Glavna street and all the way to Major hospital and bus stops that takes you to older parts of city and it's suburb on its final stop. The park itself it's very well placed, large, organized but in an easy way with two churches in it's center, orthodox and Catholic ( as history of the Zemun included many different and various relligion, old trades, professions and tolerance among it's citizens also being once part of great Ostrian Empire ) small square with many resting points and playgrounds for kids.. Nearby is an old small fountain ( cesma ), couple of old water pumps and many different types of trees that are high, very old and provide great shelter in summer from sun as also great comfort from the heat placing the famous Zemunski part as one of the most popular places for people besides the Dunavski kej and the river. It is very popular among the families with children for it's large and safe parts for resting, picnics, playgrounds or just as a quiet place for visitor to rest from the city noise or enjoy a pleasant stroll.. I highly recommend Zemunski park as one of the important and well known part of Zemun a part of Belgrade that is more city for itself, more quiet with less traffic, old buildings that tell the tale of its long history and also Major library, opera house, famous Zemun market and off course the river Danube with all it's offers for people to enjoy a...
Read moreZemun City Park, locally known as Gradski park, spans seven hectares along the rim of Zemun’s old core, bounded by Nemanjina, 22. Oktobra, Vrtlarska, Savska and Nikolaja Ostrovskog streets, and is celebrated as one of Belgrade’s most beautiful green spaces.
Originally laid out on the site of the Austro‑Hungarian quarantine station (kontumac) in 1880, it now boasts a lush canopy of both deciduous and evergreen trees—including fifteen specimens protected by the state—along winding promenades and manicured lawns.
Scattered throughout are charming monuments commemorating literary and wartime legacies, while two children’s playgrounds and a fenced dog area welcome families and pet owners.
Flanked by two mid‑19th‑century Orthodox and Catholic churches, the park offers a serene escape from the traffic and noise of the surrounding...
