Gardoš Pub — Restaurant in City of Belgrade

Gardoš Pub is an absolute gem. Such a cool spot with heaps of character and a proper pub feel. The staff were incredibly nice and friendly—really welcoming. I’m Irish originally, and they were chatting away to me about Irish beers and Serbian beers, which was a great touch.

The views from Zemun, looking out over the other side of the river, are stunning. It was sunny and warm, and even though it was February, it genuinely felt like I was on my summer holidays. The whole place has this magical, almost bird’s-nest-like atmosphere—tucked away but with so much charm.

The beers were excellent. I had a Nektar and a local lager, both delicious. The staff were happy to give recommendations, which made the experience even better. The music was spot on too—everything from Tears for Fears to The Police to The Cure. Just great vibes all around.

Although the pub was almost empty, and the waitress saw us comming in, we waited for half an hour to order (in the end I stood up and approached her to order!) In any other circumstances, we would have left without ordering, but we came with our child to enjoy the view. People who came after us were served before us. It's a pitty -the place is so interresting and with a magnificent view over Danube and Zemun, but a lot needs to be done concerning hospitality, hygiene and service. All is dusty and dirty. As for the toilet - avoid at all cost, in order not to catch an infection. Never in my life have I seen a toilet that looks like from sick...

I understand that business is business, but excuse me, paying 100 dinars for a toilet (dirty), especially when it's cold and damp outside - that's something new. I don't mind, but apparently the price of your reputation is less than 100 dinars. I could buy something in your pub, but after such an experience I don't want to buy anything and never come here again. Say hello to your employee. Separately, it is also worth mentioning the complete lack of cleanliness in the toilet. It feels like they've never washed it. Be careful, you can easily get an infection there.
