On August 19, me and my wife decided to treat ourselves with a diner at a famous fish restaurant in Belgrade. I've never been there, but the place is one of the restaurants with a reputation to be a five 🌟 location that survived the test of time. Restaurant Sharan was a promising opportunity for us to spend some quality time together with a glass of wine and good food on the bank of Danube River in Belgrade.
Our expectations however were not met at all and here is why:
Waiter got annoyed when my wife asked him which wine we can order by the glass (I was driving, hence we could not drink full bottle). He just pointed the menu on the table and stated that selection is noted there.
He managed to take away the wine menu before I had a chance to look at it. I did not requested it back. Just ordered beer.
Service of beer - well, if you pour the beer for your guest, bottle with the rest and the glass with the logos should face the guest after the service. Both placed on the right side of the plate. Not the glass on the right and the bottle on the left.
We had to ask empty glassware to be removed from the table so we can have more space.
We ordered beef karpacio that supposed to be served with permmezan cheese but there was no cheese on top of it, but it was mentioned in the menu. We asked for it and got a bowl full of it to spread by ourselves. When we were done and asked for the bowl to be removed, waiter said that we can keep it all. For later. To have it with some bread. We did not needed sarcastic comments. Just wanted to get what we ordered.
Ambience lightning was more suitable for a piano bar or a night club. Was dark and we could not see the food in our plates.
Prices were too high for the service provided.
Server need more professional training. We understand mistakes and missunderstandings can happen, there was a lot of time to professionally respond and handle them.

My family and I were excited to visit this restaurant and enjoy a lovely lunch, as the restaurant itself is beautiful and has a really nice atmosphere. Additionally, their food is delicious, and we were looking forward to a wonderful dining experience.
However, despite the restaurant's strengths, the service we received was completely inadequate. Despite signaling a waiter that we were ready to order, we were ignored and left waiting for 15 minutes without any acknowledgment or response. It was clear that the waiter was prioritizing other empty tables over ours, and this lack of attention and disregard for our patronage was frustrating and disheartening.
I believe that it's essential for all customers to receive equal and respectful treatment, regardless of their appearance or perceived financial status. It's unacceptable for any restaurant to provide subpar service, even if they have a well-known reputation in the industry.
In my opinion, the quality of service is a crucial factor in the overall dining experience, and this restaurant's failure to provide adequate service resulted in a disappointing and frustrating experience for me and my family.

Honestly, I didn't think to say anything about this at first, but it's very disappointing that a restaurant like this gives its guest such an unpleasant experience. About a month ago, 3.11 to be precise. I am proud to have brought my boyfriend, who is a foreigner, specifically to this restaurant, because in addition to excellent food, it also offers a beautiful setting and a warm atmosphere. A little before that, we were eating homemade ice cream in the neighborhood and we really weren't hungry to order something to eat at that moment. But what we didn't know was that we would not only be a temporary replacement for the doorman, because we got a table a little behind the front door, and that we would not get the smiling face of the waiter, because there was no waiter.
