Vila Park B&B — Attraction in Bohinj

This is my second favorite B&B in the world (literally!)—had such an incredible stay, enthusiastically recommend Vila Park!||Stayed here two nights in September 2025 for the Cows’ Ball in Ukanc. ||Staff : Jana is the most incredible, such a kind soul that makes you feel so cared for as soon as you arrive. She’s constantly running around to make everyone comfortable and genuinely wants you to have the best stay.||Location : easy access from the bus stop (easy to drag a suitcase across the bridge) and mere steps from the lake. Incredible ambiance with the river in the front yard, was perfect for curling up in the chairs with a good book in the evenings. ||Stay and service : our room (1) had plenty of space and an awesome balcony for enjoying the peaceful outdoors. It was cleaned brilliantly each night. The breakfast was so involved with dozens of options. Drinks and snacks available all day. We spent a wonderful week here. It couldn’t have been more perfect. The hotel is situated in a peaceful spot at the far end of Lake Bohinj, surrounded by beautiful mountains and set in a gorgeous garden in which you could sit on chairs or loungers on the lawn or by the stream which was emerald green and crystal clear. The rooms were very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well appointed. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful and there was free tea, coffee etc and cakes available all day. Jana, our host, was so kind. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She gave us very useful information to help us explore the area and even gave us supplies for our picnic lunches. We didn’t have a car but that wasn’t a problem for us. There was a very good pizzeria within a 10 minutes walk from the hotel and the buses were cheap and frequent if you wanted to go further afield (check the time of the last bus!) We have just had 4 wonderful nights at Vila Park, Bohinj. Where to start… location is brilliant - Ukranc is THE place to stay around Bohinj (much quieter and less people/development) and the setting of Vila Park with its gardens edged by the most mind-blowingly beautiful stream/river is truly unique. Rooms are super, but what makes our stay unforgettable is the host, Jana. Her No 1 concern is the happiness of her guests. Nothing is too much trouble. Her breakfasts are THE BEST. Wonderful selection, including local produce, and all served with such consideration. And Jana is always very happy to provide knowledgeable recommendations for walks, day time activities and places to eat in the evenings. If you plan to visit the area, this is the place to stay.
